The sequel to the popular Android smartphone OnePlus One has been in the making for quite some time now, and it was supposed to arrive on the market soon – but now it seems that fans of the brand are going to have to wait a little longer before they can get their hands on the new phone. According to rumors, the device’s launch has been pushed back and might even be delayed until the late months of 2015.
Reports indicate that the company is still confident in the performance of the OnePlus One, and they believe that they will be able to last at least another six months with the device on the market. If that’s true, then they will probably not want to launch any new smartphones during that time in order to optimize their market position as much as possible.
We’ve gotten various leaks about the OnePlus Two so far, and even the device’s specifications were apparently leaked at one point, along with rumors that the phone is being prepared for a launch in the middle of 2015. Apparently these plans changed though, as the phone is now going to hit the market at a later point.
There were various difficulties with the launch of the OnePlus One, and even though the phone was ultimately very successful, people did note these negative developments and talked about them for some time. It would certainly be good if the company puts a little more effort into the device’s launch this time, in order to ensure that such mishaps don’t happen again.
If the previously released list of specifications turns out to be true, we can expect a fantastic offer from the OnePlus Two, a device that should find its place on the Android market very easily. Of course, quite a lot has changed since the launch of the OnePlus One, and the company will now have a lot more competition to deal with, but they also have an established fan base who will readily support them.
All they really have to do now is ensure that the OnePlus Two matches current expectations and possibly even exceeds them, and this shouldn’t be that hard to do with the right combination of hardware and software. The modifications to the default Android experience introduced in the operating system of the OnePlus One were received very well, and we can only expect that the release of the new phone will have similar results. It might take a while until the phone arrives though, looking at the current rumors, so fans of the company should arm themselves with a lot of patience right now, and keep an ear open for rumors.
