George Martin to Preview New Chapter of ‘The Winds of Winter’ on Sansa Stark at ConQuest 2015

George R.R. Martin has recently announced that he will be previewing a chapter of the sixth book of the fantasy novel series “A Song of Fire and Ice” titled “The Winds of Winter” at the upcoming ConQuest 2015 to be held in August at Hannover City in Germany.

But the critically-acclaimed author did not specifically mentioned which chapter of “The Winds of Winter” will he be previewing during the event.

There are rumors going around though that it will be his newest chapter on “The Winds of Winter” about Sansa Stark titled “Alayne.”

Eagerly-anticipated

Fans of the fantasy novel series have been eagerly awaiting the release of Martin’s sixth book since last year.

During the recent Holiday season, Martin posted a series of photos on his social media account with a countdown as captions. Fans thought at the time that it was a countdown until he officially released “The Winds of Winter.”  Martin later on said people have interpreted his posts wrong because  he will never tease fans on when “The Winds of Winter” is coming out or even say  if has already finished writing the book or not.

He added then that if he will be making any announcement regarding the “The Winds of Winter,” it will not be in the form of a tease or a cryptic statement, but a message loud and clear to be heard and known by every one.

At that time, Martin was quoted as saying that he was doing his best to finish the book. But he was nonetheless optimistic as to the date on when he can finished writing the book. In fact, he has turned down a lot of public appearances to get his writing done for “The Winds of Winter.”

Dragon with three heads

In the fantasy novel series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” there is a dragon with three heads which may be revealed in the upcoming sixth book.

In one of the chapters of the early books, there is a scene where Rhaegar was holding his newborn baby in his arms. Daenerys saw her brother saying that his son will be a prince as promised and he will be declared as the “song of ice and fire.” Rhaegar then looked at his sister and told her that there should be one more character to fill in the dragon’s heads.

Winds of Winter

This scene is considered to be very symbolic as it holds the key to finding out who the third head will be.

There have been hints in the novel that Young Griff is the third dragon head because he was later revealed in the series to be Aegon Targaryen, the real blood son of Prince Rhaegar, brother of Daenerys. But Griff could not really be the real Aegon since there are two separate visions of false dragons in the tale.

  1. The original three heads were one male and two female. I think it’s that exact pattern repeating and believe it or not, I have a feeling it’s Jon,Sansa and Arya.

  2. 3 heads are Dany, Jon and Tyrion bro… and we get to find out next year in the show woohoo!! Finally after all these years of waiting we will get an answer!! Also if any of the main themes are changed in the books (that will obviously never be released/released long after the show has finished) from the show you will know that it is grrms attempt to keep his story relevant when in fact the end was told long ago by the show! Thank the red god for Beinoff and Weiss.. otherwise we would be waiting a thousand winters for winter to come.

  3. At this point I find it comical that we will read the ending a good 4 or 5 years after we see it on the show. People can get on their soapbox and scream about the changes from the show to the books and claim that because we don’t know the fate of secondary character 47 that detracts from the show and they will wait for the book (good luck with that you GRRM sycophants). I love the books as much as almost anyone, but I can admit that the man is a procrastinator (not lazy…he just has an issue prioritizing which is why he doesn’t outline his books) and his last 2 books have been less than the expected quality. Yes I expected quality…Call me spoiled, but it was like waking up next to a girl who was very pretty the night before, but the make up came off and now you have to have breakfast with her.

I will take the shows condensed version of FFC and DWD over GRRMs longwinded yarn. He sewed himself into a corner, nevermind the personal life stuff he picked up to help justify how busy he is and how slow he writes. Guys he is making big big sacrafices this year…No Comicon or Rochester NY trips…And we dont get a script from him again. Oh the agony.

Oh and he goes 2 plus weeks with out posting on his Blog and when he finally does make a post that recognizes this fact he then makes reference to time flying and implies that for the most part his time has not been spent on finishing the book he is so “desperate” to get out. The man is infurriating in that he wonders at our unabashed anger…..This is not a damn complexity issue, and dont give me the “you can’t rush the artist” BS…This is a dedication issue. The pressure has swallowed him up to the point that he takes on side projects like a hooker takes on Johns…Just as a distraction and money is good too.

  4. As for the 3 heads….we know 2..Jon and Danny….The other is just speculation on everyone’s part.
If Tyrion is the mad kings bastard son and is actually have Targaryon then I think it’s him….
Could it be Bran not actually riding one of the dragons but warging into it, maybe?
I don’t see either of the Stark girls as one of the 3, but if one of them were then it would have to be Arya….Sansa is still relatively useless and will continue to be until she stops allowing herself to be other peoples bishop (a strong piece but not on her own).
Obviously Jamie is going to die at some point, probably sacrificing himself to save someone else to complete his 180 degree turn.
Aegon is not legit…and that is a scientific fact….Blackfrye he is…as is Varys who’s twig and berries were taken for their kings blood.

There you have it folks….Ill be happy to be wrong on any of this because that means Ill be surprised. However, as much as GRRM is trying to reinvent the wheel by staying away from the usual fantasy fare, he cant wrap the books up with out being somewhat predictable. You can take all the twists and turns you want in the middle (not surprisingly his best books were in the middle and he wrote them the fastest) but when it comes time to tying everything back together you have to give us as readers some sort of payoff with most of the worst characters getting their comeupance
