Blizzard Entertainment may not have seen this one coming but a New Zealander is playing its popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) “World of Warcraft” in a unique way. Instead of using the usual mouse and keyboard to get through to the levels of the game, Rudeism is playing “World of Warcraft” using two dance mats.
Based on the video of how Rudeism is playing the game, it looks as if though he is demonstrating a new dance step for Zumba. The way he does it really looks good to keep himself fit but for the gamers of “World of Warcraft,” Rudeism really appears weird, reports Kotaku.
There is nothing that can prevent Rudeism from playing “World of Warcraft” using two dance mats but he actually made some rules for himself which include no text chat and that he cannot go beyond having one macro, which should be in the form of dance as well.
Rudeism is looking to become the first “World of Warcraft” player to play the game from level 1 to 100 using dance mats. While others may find him looking very absurd, the New Zealand native seems to be enjoying himself playing “World of Warcraft” using dance mats while keeping himself in good shape.
Newest alternate hero
A new patch has come to the “World of Warcraft” last week and among the latest additions include the arrival of Lady Liadrin, the newest alternate hero added to “Heartstone: Heroes of Warcraft.”
However, if a player wants to get Lady Liadrin, he or she needs to level up a character to level 20 in “World of Warcraft,” notes Polygon.
Lady Liadrin is an optional reskin for the default paladin in “Heartstone: Heroes of Warcraft” named Uther.
The level 20 requirement to getting Lady Liadrin also means that the new character will not be awarded retroactively for those gamers with playable characters already over level 20.
Apparently, the new feature is meant to boost “World of Warcraft” subscription numbers which hit a nine-year low from late last year as reported by Blizzard Entertainment.
The game executive producer recently stated that the development team for “World of Warcraft” is no longer focusing on how to make a quest that shall add 100,000 more subscribers to the game, but more on making the nearly 12-year-old game more accessible to newcomers, at the same time bring back to the game the so-called lapsed players, or those who have lost interest in playing the game.
After the launch of “Heartstone: Heroes of Warcraft” last week, “Whispers of the Old Gods” expansion deck will also be unveiled by Blizzard Entertainment either in April or May. It will feature 134 new cards themed around the evil eldritch gods from the lore of “World of Warcraft.”
Pre-event for expansion pack launching
As the official unveiling of the next expansion pack for “World of Warcraft” titled “Legion” draws near, Blizzard Entertainment is currently in the thick of preparations for the holding of the pre-event to formally launch the content.
It has been typical of Blizzard to set a pre-event for every launching of new content since it does not want players to be surprised all of a sudden when they logged on and found out that the game world has changed significantly.
By holding the pre-events, gamers who have been around will be able to experience the transition and shall be able to make sense of what is really going on.
There have already been plenty of screenshots to the upcoming “Legion” expansion pack including possible details of the pre-event.
Based on those screenshots, it seems that the Burning Legion will be assaulting the world of Azeroth in different locations. The goal of the players is to stop the assault and they will have to fill up a bar which upon hitting the maximum, will begin a new stage.
