Winds Of Winter Release Date And Other Information Released Online!

George R. R. Martin is a name that has been popping up in the news recently. The name might sound familiar to you, but unless you have dealt directly with his work, you are not going to know that much about him. He is a writer and a good one at that. His internationally best selling fantasy books have been adapted by HBO into a popular television show by the name of “Game of Thrones”.

He has been named one of the most influential people in the world and called “the American Tolkien” by publications. The 66-year old writer has been riding on the success of Game of Thrones over the last few years, but fans have been waiting for an announcement of a different kind. There is a book that could be one of the most anticipated releases in recent times that George R. R. Martin has written and fans are wondering when it will be on sale.

That book, Winds of Winter, is the sixth installment to the novel series A Song of Ice and Fire. The last book, called A Dance with Dragons did not cover enough of the story and that has led to many cliffhangers for the involved characters. George R. R. Martin claims that those loose ends will be all tied up by the time you get half way through The Winds Of Winter. Fans have been speculating that the book might have been released right before the sixth season of Game of Thrones, next year.

The show typically starts back up in April and that means if 2016 is the release year, the book would have to be on the shelves by the end of March at the very latest. Another source claims that a hint from the Hugo Awards could be pointing to a possible release. In order for a novel to be considered for the award, it must be released the year prior to the award show. If The Winds of Winter would be considered, it would have to be released by the end of 2015. That little bit of information has fans wondering which it will be as it leaves about a three month window wide open for the actual release date.

George R. R. Martin said that he would be at the Huge Awards and casting a vote as well, but he did skip the Comic-Con show, as well as the World Fantasy Convention because he just wanted to spend as much time on finishing his book. George R. R. Martin wrote on his website that he would be very busy throughout this entire year with other commitments and travel, but also wanted to make sure that finishing the book is on the list.
