Winds of Winter, the sixth book in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series by writer George R.R Martin was speculated release on February 2015. However, recent news is that the 66-year-old author hasn’t been keeping well and has asked for the release date to be pushed back to 2016.
This has caused a major uproar amidst the fans as they have been waiting since 2011, when ‘A Dance with Dragons’ was released. They have been waiting for over 3 years and now when there is news that the release date Wind of Winter will be pushed back, there is much agitation and disapproval. Martin is contract bound by Bantam Books to complete Wind of Winters by mid-2015 and fans are hoping that he delivers within the deadline and doesn’t push back the dates.
Fans feel that this series is a major deal breaker for George R.R Martin, and he shouldn’t have focused on other things instead of completing of Winds of Winter. Martin is believed to write 300 words a day; the same pace as Harry Potter author, J.K Rowling. Given the time taken by Martin to complete each book and his failing health, fans are doubtful if he will be able to complete the series.

A Dance with Dragon ends with Arya wanting to become an assassin, and Tyrion left humiliated. Speculation says that Winds of Winter will be written from Arya Stark’s perspective. Winds of Winter will have Arya training under the tutelage of Izembaro in the land of Braavos. While she is busy training, there is someone pretending to be her.
This imposter of Arya Stark is expected to be Sansa’s dear friend, Jeyne Poole. She is now married to the bastard, Ramsay Bolton and is in Braavos pretending to be Arya. Poole visits Braavos along with Ser Justin Massey and it is speculated that Arya meets her imposter there.
