5 Seconds of Summer, the Australian band with Luke Hemmings, Ashton Irwin, Michael Clifford and Calum Hood have been doing the rounds on their second world tour for the past four months. This wasn’t their first tour, but the boys still couldn’t stop being amazed at the effect their music had on fans all over the world.
In spite of touring with One Direction, who have made a mark in the music industry, 5 Seconds of Summer members have created quite a huge fan base, especially Luke Hemmings.
Upon returning to Australia, as part of a prank by a radio show in Sydney, Luke Hemmings was asked to call up his local club and check if 5 Seconds of Summer could play for the Punters on their home trip.
The Returned and Services League of Australia (RSL club) did not have any place for Luke Hemmings and the boys. The manager said that they were booked for the next six months and that the band should send in their recording, and he will get back to them if he has an opening.
This move was not at all appreciated by 5 Seconds of Summer fans. They came hard on the club and its manager, who were left red-faced. The band hits the road soon and is set to return to the US for a series of shows. Australian fans are disappointed that the band couldn’t perform while at home.
The band members of 5 Seconds of Summer are on tour, and life can get pretty tough for them with routine of late nights and early wake up calls. While giving an interview, they were asked how the band members coped up with their rigorous schedule and Michael Clifford revealed that Luke Hemmings can be pretty nasty when he wakes up in the morning.
Luke Hemmings set aside the remark by band member Clifford as a joke and said that the band finds it hard to believe the kind of fan frenzy they witness. The hype surrounding 5 Seconds of Summer keeps on getting bigger, and Luke said that the members are totally psyched out about the kind of reaction they are getting for their music.
When Luke Hemmings and his band mates heard that fans are lining up for their show in New York, while they were still to perform in Manchester, they realised how real it was. They still find it unreal that there were millions waiting for them in another continent while they were yet to start performing in a different state.
