The latest season of “The Big Bang Theory” ended on a very dramatic note and left fans of the show with a significant cliffhanger. Right now, we have no idea what’s going to happen in season 9, but the show will likely see some major developments in its future episodes, especially with regards to the relationship between Amy and Sheldon.
In the last episode of season 8, Amy decided to break up with Sheldon, while we also got to find out that he was planning to propose to her. The development was obviously quite dramatic and heavy for many fans of the show, and it wasn’t actually the most expected plot development for most. While there was some speculation that this was going to happen, many fans were convinced that the breakup would only be temporary and would be resolved within the same episode that it occurred, if it did happen.
But now, things are looking more grim for the relationship between the two characters, and we’re not sure if they will get back together in the future. At the same time, Penny and Leonard decided to go to Las Vegas to take their own relationship to the next level, getting finally married. However, things take a turn for the worse when Leonard makes a confession – he has kissed a girl while he was out on The North Sea, and of course that kind of revelation doesn’t exactly add anything positive to the situation.
As for Amy and Sheldon, the way their relationship ended at least left the door open for them getting back together later on. From Amy’s point of view, she wants a break more than an actual break-up, as she needs to reevaluate what she wants in life. She also admitted that being in a relationship with Sheldon wasn’t what she had expected, and it was more demanding on her than she was hoping.
She still said she loved him, but apparently the way their relationship had been going wasn’t ideal for her, and she wanted to take a step back and figure out what she really needs. On the other hand, Sheldon took some serious steps to move forward in this relationship, so it would be sad to see it all go away – especially after he decided to get a ring and propose as well, something which must have obviously taken a lot of courage for the character. Sheldon has always had a peculiar approach to his relationship with Amy, and it’s now becoming clear that she was more bothered by it than she was letting on.
