The last scene of the teaser shows Carla Gugino’s Kate appealing to the residents of the town to do something about their world and their future.
During the season 1 finale, scores of aberrations breached the perimeter of the town. Upon learning what Pilcher has done, Mat Dillon’s Ethan and Kate directed the assembled citizens to bunker under Plot 33, but not before the abbies begin to arrive and slaughter most of the citizens.
Jason heads to safety in another bunker with other members of the First Generation while Pam objected Pilcher’s idea to wipe the town clean and start over with group C so he has her refrozen against her will. Pam later killed Pilcher after she was brought back.
The townspeople flee through a tunnel from the bunker to the mountain complex, with the abbies in pursuit. Ethan then sacrifices himself to stop the rest of the flesh-eating creatures.
The episode ended with Charlie Tahan’s Ben Burke waking up to find that his dad had sacrificed himself and that Jason is now governing Wayward Pines.
“Wayward Pines” Season 2 will premiere on May 25 on Fox and will consist of 10 episodes just like the first season. Episode 2, entitled “Blood Harvest” will air on June 1.
