‘Vikings’ Season 4 will See Rollo Facing the Wrath of Another Lothbrok for Betraying Ragnar

King Rognvaldsson Rollo, portrayed by Clive Standen, will be facing the wrath of another Lothbrok other than King Ragnar in the upcoming Season 4 of the historical drama TV series “Vikings,” when it returns to the History channel early next year.

It has been reported previously that the fourth season of “Vikings” will see Rollo finally coming out of his brother Ragnar’s big and imposing shadow and come into his own.

Hints also allude to the fact that Ragnar, played by actor Travis Fimmel, will encounter a major sibling rivalry with Rollo as the latter would betray him and side with Paris, reports Zap2it.

However, Rollo will not just be contending with the wrath of his brother for his betrayal but also Ragnar’s son Bjorn.

While Bjorn, played by Alexander Ludwig, always had an amiable relationship with his uncle, that bond will finally be severed in Season 4. According to Ludwig, his character Bjorn will feel so hurt because of what his uncle will do so he will try to kill him. Bjorn believes in his eyes that there are certain things that cannot be forgiven and Rollo’s betrayal of his father is one of those.

Ludwig admits though that the necessity of negotiating with Rollo for the peaceful end of the ongoing conflict is a possibility but the fact that his uncle has turned his back on their community means that he is not coming back anymore.

Bjorn will be taking over the leadership of the Norse people while his father Ragnar heals and recuperate from the first wave of the siege against Paris. But he certainly has no compassion left in him in dealing with his traitor uncle.

Action-packed battle sequences

Meanwhile, actress Katheryn Winnick, who plays Lagertha, was among the cast members of the popular TV series who participated in the recently-concluded ComicCon 2015 event in San Diego, California.

She joined Travis Fimmel and the other cast members in riding the Vikings Longship, a bus that was turned into a Viking ship, in riding around the popular Gaslamp District in Downtown San Diego, details Yahoo! News.

In an interview during the ride at the Vikings Longship, Winnick disclosed that fans of the “Vikings” TV series should expect plenty of action-packed battle sequences for the Season 4. She added that the show will continue to focus on the family saga of the Lothbrok clan.

For his part, Fimmel said that “Vikings” will return to Paris, the city which they successfully raided in Season 3, as well as other new locations that fans have yet to see. He assured fans that they will see more excitement as the series promises to bring more guts, more glory, more beards and more braids too.

Mischievous plan

While Ragnar Lothbrok is busy in his return to Paris in Season 4, his throne in his home in Kattegat in Denmark has been taken over by his wife Queen Aslaug, played by Alyssa Sutherland.

According to the latest spoiler on the historical TV drama series “Vikings,” on the History channel, Queen Aslaug has become fond of power as her husband is often away and busy either in Paris or Wessex.

This fondness for power of Aslaug will apparently become a focal point in the upcoming Season 4 of “Vikings” as she and Ragnar will argue more about it more than her husband’s religious beliefs and problematic infidelity.

Showrunner Michael Hirst confirmed in a recent interview that Aslaug had a taste for power while Ragnar has been away, adding that in the fourth season, fans would be able to see that the Queen is enjoying the taste of power that she might find it hard to just give it up or relinquish it back to her husband.

“Vikings” Season 4 is now being filmed in Ireland for a 20-episode season to be released early next year.

Actress Alyssa Sutherland recently posted on her Twitter account her latest attire on “Vikings” as Queen Aslaug and captioned it as fittings for the queen, indirectly alluding to her character’s mischievous plans against Ragnar.
