Speaking to Variety, Hirst reveals that Rollo will play a huge role because he is determined to bring an end to Ragnar. The series creator says that Rollo tried his best to creep out from his brother’s shadow, but he finds it very difficult.
The idea that he was just never going to be remembered because of Ragnar will be the root of his desire to end his own brother’s life. There’s also the Seer who told him that going to Paris will mean something extraordinary will happen to him.
With Fimmel’s character meeting his impending demise, Breathecast reports that the show will take focus on his sons particularly Bjorn, played by Alexander Ludwig.
Bjorn will take on the Mediterranean seas in the second half of the season and his venture will open more opportunities for his character to develop.
Hirst says that fans will really love Bjorn being the new focal point of the show. He believes that the real Bjorn is more of a Viking than his father because he went to take on many lands than Ragnar and had obviously far more adventures than his father.
The show had already been confirmed for the fifth season and Hirst has started plotting the storyline for Bjorn and other characters coming into focus with the upcoming season.
