The brand new Nissan Maxima will be coming to a dealership near you next year and it will be based on the popular sports sedan concept you might have seen at motor shows recently. The new Maxima already have plenty of steam behind it with all of the buzz generated during those motor shows and now that car lovers know that it will be ready to drive by next fall, the buzz is getting louder. According to those that have seen the new concept, the car looks very good and contains something missing from Nissan models recently.
According to one online source, the Chairman of Nissan North America claims that the difference between the sedan concept and what you will see on the lot are “very small”. The redesigned Nissan Maxima is apparently already in production and that news come just weeks after leaked images of the test mule were shared online for all Nissan lovers to see. One of the most notable changes from the sports sedan concept is the grille.
The one that is expected on the new model looks line and appears to be slightly smaller when compared to the one for the Nissan Altima. There are plenty of rumors as to what drivers are going to find under the hood, starting with a 3.5L V-6 and a CVT transmission. Even though that could be one of the options for new car buyers next fall, it should be noted that Nissan could add another trim model that sports the smaller, more efficient 2.5L 4-cylinder engine.
Another online source even claimed that the look of the new Nissan is better than the Porsche Panamera, but that can be left to each drivers opinion of course. The overall design of the new car is expected to give it a futuristic look, but one that can be used on a daily basis. The concept is showing the car with four doors, like many others sporty cars on the market today and that can open it up to small families.
With the engine and transmission combination, the car is expected to have about 300 horsepower which should put it into a small group of other sporty cars that are also fuel efficient. This will be the 6th Maxima model to go into development since 2009, but will be one of the first with such drastic design changes like the wider stance and “fish hook” headlights.
When the new Nissan Maxima gets to the market next fall it is expected to be competing with the Buick LaCrosse, Ford Taurus and the ES 350 from Lexus.
