In “Transformers,” Barricade was seen in a highway chase sequence seemingly helping Bonecrusher engage in a battle against Optimus Prime. He vanished from the film and did not return for the sequel.
In the tie-in comics, specifically the IDW Publishing’s Reign of Starscream miniseries and “Transformers #7” by Titan Magazines, Barricade was nearly killed and entirely killed, respectively.
Barricade returned for “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” the third movie, only to be killed by soldiers. Footage of Barricade also appeared on a monitor during “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” the fourth movie. Now, he’s back for “Transformers: The Last Knight.”
In addition to Bumblebee and Barricade, there is now a new Mercedes-Benz AMG GTR in its first starring film role in “Transformers: The Last Knight” while spotted filming in Webberville, Michigan.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GTR shall play the role of Drift, an Autobot that was also featured in the fourth “Transformers” movie as a black-and-blue Bugatti Veyron Grans Sports Vitesse.
Drift is still a samurai in his undisguised form but considering the red-on-black color scheme in the spy shots, it seems that the Autobot is in for a color change for “Transformers: The Last Knight,” which is set to hit cinemas in June next year.
