There Could Have Been an ‘Amazing Spider-Man 3’ Movie If Andrew Garfield Did not Snub Sony Boss

“The Amazing Spider-Man” grossed nearly $800 million while its sequel made a worldwide box office haul of close to $700 million.

Kaz was supposed to state that he is proud to say that Andrew will be returning as Peter Parker in “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” to be released in May 2016. But when Garfield did not come to dinner, the speech of the Sony Pictures boss was changed.

Subsequently, the fate of Andrew Garfield was also changed as “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” was eventually cancelled. While there were reports that he was fired from the movie, the fact that the film never took off in the first place meant that Garfield was not. The project was just shelved and he was bundled with it too.

When Sony Pictures forged an agreement with Marvel Studios early this year, it has officially relinquished all future films on the web-crawling superhero to Marvel.

Marvel is planning to reboot the Spider-Man franchise with its own version that is well within the Marvel cinematic universe, with a solo movie slated on July 28, 2017. But before the solo film, the new Spider-Man shall also appear in the third “Captain America” movie due in theaters next year officially titled “Captain America: Civil War.”
