The role-playing game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is getting groundswell support from many gaming critics for the prestigious “Game of the Year” honor for 2015.
According to Yahoo! Tech, 2015 was a great year for video games. Despite some dodgy transitional years, it noted that the new gaming consoles are finally delivering and so is PC gaming.
According to the site, it is vouching for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” to receive the top honor because the game combines the open-world fantasy adventure with a tight and compelling narrative featuring a white-haired demon-hunting warrior known by gamers as Geralt of Rivia.
The game is simultaneously epic and intimate, which makes it a truly impressive feat for a huge RPG.
Polish game developer CD Projekt Red did come out with a gorgeous and glorious world which makes gaming really worth it and gamers feeling that it was time well spent too after every session.
While there are many contenders to the honor, the site believes that the runner-up should go to another role-playing game “Fallout 4” developed by Bethesda Studios. The game is an amazing journey through a handcrafted wasteland bursting with enemies to fight, locations to explore, and duct tape to pilfer. It is more addictive than “Psycho-Jet” actually, the site added.
Not to be taken lightly
Twinfinite explained why a “Game of the Year” title should not be taken lightly. Winning the honor means that the game delivers a master class demonstration of not only its genre but of how the medium can be used to deliver rich and rewarding experiences.
“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is one of the games that does not come around very often. It has set lofty goals that it actually managed to hit it with amazing direction, visuals, and story.
Unlike other action role-playing games, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” makes a demonstration of what happens when the player experience was made an important part of the development process as much as the game’s vision.
In addition to its engaging and captivating gameplay, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is a game that has a very deep story to tell, focusing on love, loss, monster, and humanity, something which other role-playing games simply lack or do not have.
The game’s narrative is very interesting because the developer wanted to make sure that gamers get to experience and explore it as if they are really part of the whole thing. The even better thing is that the game never forces the hand of the gamers in going forward. While there is the goal of saving a kingdom and someone, gamers need not have to do it at a given time because they can do it when they have the right time for it.
While there are other worthy games vying for the highly-coveted honor, critics believe that it is very difficult to find another video game that can come close to the sheer scope of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” and what it has to offer.
An awesome expansion pack
When the first DLC expansion pack titled “Heart of Stone” came to the open world role-playing game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” in October, gamers and critics were all praises for it.
Although it is already a massive game filled with various types of awesome quests, the “Hearts of Stone” DLC has further added arguably the best quests in the game.
As far as gamers are concerned, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is already a perfect game that was even made more perfect by “Hearts of Stone” DLC expansion pack. But as far as developer CD Project Red is concerned, the first DLC allowed them to correct the mistake of the base game.
They have another chance at game refinement as a second expansion pack is set to be released next year. And word has it that the second and final DLC expansion pack, which shall reportedly be released anytime during the first half of 2016, will be pretty awesome too.
