Contrary to previous reports that the American tech giant may be launching its latest notebook and laptop simultaneously early next year, it seems that there will be two launching events for Apple during the first half of next year, one for each new MacBook variant. Or it could be that there will be just one launching event, but one product would come out in the market a few months later.
Latest reports have it that Apple will be launching its 2016 MacBook Air along with the iPad Air 3 in March 2016. Three months later, it will officially unveil the 2016 MacBook Pro, cites Yibada.
Dissecting the latest reports, it would seem that a March event is likely for the American tech giant. It can be recalled that it also had a launching event in March this year when it unraveled the new Apple MacBook and the Apple Watch.
However, a June launching event for Apple seems extra-ordinary or non-traditional to say the least because the company has not had a June event for the last few years. This year, it did have a July launching event when it unveiled the Apple iPod Touch 6th Generation along with the official announcement for the beta testing of the iOS 9.0, its mobile operating system.
For obvious reason, Apple has delayed the launching of the iPad Air 3 because it does not want its latest tablet to compete with its giant tablet called the iPad Pro, which was launched along with the iPhone 6S, the iPhone 6S Plus, the iPad mini 4, and the Apple TV in September, but started making its way to the markets only in November.
Word also have it that it is possible that the 2016 MacBook Pro would be simultaneously launched with the 2016 MacBook Air and the iPad Air 3, but the latest laptop would make it to the market in June.
However, since Apple has yet to make a statement or announcement regarding the official launching and release dates of its upcoming product offerings, everything about the devices involved are speculations at this point in time.
Other products in the March launching event
There are also rumors that in addition to the 2016 MacBook Air, the iPad Air 3, and the 2016 MacBook Pro, the Cupertino-based tech company could also unveil the Apple Watch 2 as well as the long-rumored Apple iPhone 6C, notes Venture Capital Post.
As far as the rumors on the 2016 MacBook Air is concerned, it seems pretty consistent that it will have two variants – a 13-inch model and a 15-inch version.
There are also latest rumors saying that the 2016 MacBook Pro shall also have the same size variants, which seems ironic at this point.
Accordingly, the 2016 MacBook Pro would also share the major rumored features of the 2016 MacBook Air including Intel’s latest Skylake processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 video card. Both shall also have Retina high-resolution display screens, bigger RAM capacity, longer battery life, and USB Type-C ports.
The same connection was introduced during the launching of the 2016 Apple MacBook when it was launched in March, but it only featured one port. It is expected that the 2016 Apple MacBook Air would have at least two USB Type-C ports.
A radical change
Latest reports also have it that the 2016 MacBook Air would offer a major refresh in terms of design because the notebook line has yet to receive any radical change since the line was first created eight years ago.
Other significant updates coming to the 2016 MacBook Air include modules for cooling and Force Touch technology.
Force Touch technology has been introduced by Apple in the Apple Watch and the 2016 Apple MacBook when the devices were simultaneously launched in March. The same technology is now being widely adopted by Apple in most of its devices including the latest iPhones – the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus.
