The Walking Dead Season 7: Who Lives and Who Dies

SPOILER WARNING!

The second half of The Walking Dead season 7 is coming and we know you are dying to find out who gets to survive the season, and who becomes zombie meat!

Tom Payne (Jesus) already told us big things are planned, when he stated “One of the best things about the show is we get to read the scripts before everyone else. We were like, ‘Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow!’ There are some great payoff moments in the finale where you go, ‘Wow! That’s really cool! I can’t wait to see that, that’s amazing!’ There are moments in the script where you go, ‘Wow, that character gets to do that.’ I think the audience needs to be patient sometimes.”

Patient? For the fans of this show, patience was always too big of a challenge, and now?

The show has us wondering. The lines are drawn between Alexandria and the Saviors in the second half of season 7. At the beginning of the season, Rick submitted to Negan’s rule, but now, he has had enough – the Sheriff is back, and the war is afoot.

What does this mean? Well, it means that it is a given that the final eight episodes of the season will have a crazy body count.

And, if this was any other show, you would probably be able to guess who gets to live, and who dies, but this is not just any show, as The Walking Dead director Greg Nicotero explains “The first half of the season we lay the groundwork, the second half of the season the momentum starts to build towards the finale. It’s an exciting time for the show. After seven years, it’s got to feel fresh – we would never do the same thing over and over again because the audience would get tired of seeing the same thing.”

So, as he promised, the first half of the season killed some of our beloved characters and gave us a few deaths no one saw coming. So now what? What comes next?

Since we know you are just as curious as we are, we have decided to make a list. On it are all the characters that are still on the show, and we will try to predict whether they will survive the season seven, or finish their journey.

Rick (Andrew Lincoln) – Lives

Sheriff isn’t going anywhere. Just a feeling.

Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) – Lives

He’s just too big to be killed off this quickly, plus, he is still alive in the comics, so Negan will be with us for a while.

Heath (Corey Hawkins) – Dies

The last time we saw him, he was surrounded by walkers while making an attempt at saving Tara. Even though it was left unclear whether he made it out alive, and managed to escape the horde, we have a hunch his road has ended.

Morgan Jones (Lennie James) – Lives

In comics he is already dead, so the writers are obviously going to make an interesting plot with him.

Simon (Steven Ogg) – Dies

He seems to be marked for death. We know the show is not going to kill Negan off, Simon seems like a logical big death on the side of the bad guys.

Dwight (Austin Amelio) – Lives

walking dead s7 who lives who diesYep, someone on this list might actually live. Although we must admit, our guess is based on what we know about him from the comics. In the comics, he gets several interesting storylines, so if he survives in spite of picking a fight with one of the toughest characters on the show, we are in for a treat in the next season.

Aaron (Ross Marquand) – Dies

Going too much towards depressing seems like a logical choice for a victim of season 7 finale.

King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) – Lives

A season or two from now, he might die, but it will have to be a big deal since he is a major part of events to come – and yes, we are talking about the upcoming war against Negan.

Shiva – Lives

As long as Ezekiel lives, Shiva will be there. We can’t wait to see her eat someone on this season. Now seriously, Shiva is so important in comics, we just had to treat her as a character.

Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos) – Dies

Too little character development, too late. We have a feeling this was done just to make us shocked when she dies.

Gregory (Xander Berkeley) – Dies

His leadership was faulty from the very beginning, with him being a coward and all. Also, the fact that he is such a creep, especially with Maggie, is really not working in his favor.

Paul “Jesus” Monroe (Tom Payne) – Lives

Pretty new character on the show, plus, he has several arcs in the comic, so we are guessing the show will keep him alive, so he could do all that important work at the Hilltop Colony that is waiting for him.

Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) – Lives

He is indestructible. That is all we have to say.

Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) – Lives

Not really sure why, but we had a feeling he was gonna die last year, and nothing happened, so now we vote for his survival. Plus, we are really curious to see what happens to him next.

Michonne (Danai Gurira) – Lives

No reason. We just think so. Don’t you?

Daryl (Norman Reedus) – Lives

Not immortal, but almost. Plus the fans love him. File him under Not going anywhere.

Carl (Chandler Riggs) – Lives

We want him to live up to his huge comic storyline, that is all. And if he does, my oh my, are you in for a surprise.

Maggie (Lauren Cohan) – Dies

The show doesn’t need another baby on the cast, plus, we have a feeling Glenn’s death is gonna leave her moping around, so the shock and awe moment of her death somehow seems imminent.

Carol (Melissa McBride) – Lives

Too tough to be killed now. She lived through everything this show had tossed at her. She must live on, so we can see what she does next.

Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) – Dies

The only future plot for her might be mourning Abraham’s death, and some kind of conflict with Rosita, which might not be worth it for the writers.

Tara Chambler (Alanna Masterson) – Lives?

The Walking Dead probably won’t kill off that many characters in this season?
