We’ve seen various characters through the episodes of “The Vampire Diaries”, and the show has certainly done a great job at building up a good set of personalities and relationships between them. And occasionally, we get to see people who haven’t been around for a while, leading to some even more exciting developments. There are some rumors that one of the upcoming episodes in the current season are going to take a short trip to the past.
More specifically, Damon will meet an “old friend” of his, according to reports, although we don’t know exactly who that is. Caroline Dries, one of the main people behind the show, said in an interview that fans of the show should definitely know the face once it appears, and Damon will meet him/her when he enters the stone. There are various possible interpretations for her statement, and it’s certainly exciting to think about what the show might be doing soon in terms of bringing back older characters.
Some fans have been wondering how the upcoming episodes will be arranged with regards to the appearances of the main characters, and so far we’ve seen a confirmation that Damon will have a constant presence on the screen, and he’ll especially be given a lot of attention in episode 10. That’s certainly great news for fans of the show who were more attached to his character specifically, but we don’t know if he will remain the same until the end or possibly go through some more interesting developments at some point.
We do know that the upcoming episode will focus on some problems for the character, and it will not be the kind of story that we’re used to hearing about him, according to previews. What this could mean is open to interpretation, of course, and it’s inspired fans of the show to actively discuss the possible developments online. The episode will surely put some of Damon’s personality traits to the test, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the character ends up a bit changed by the time this episode is over.
He will have to go through a very grueling ordeal once he’s inside the stone though, as he will end up being reminded of all the problems that he has caused previously, and as fans of the show know, that’s certainly not a short list. We wouldn’t be surprised if the writers have also planned some new revelations for Damon, as there always seems to be something new to uncover about the character, especially when it comes to the conflicts in his past.
So far, “The Vampire Diaries” has been able to maintain high levels of reception among its fans, and people are mostly happy with the way the show has been moving, despite the slow pace of its developments at some points. It’s true that the writers of the show like to take things nice and easy from time to time, but they also know how to put things into high gear when the situation calls for it.
But for now, we should focus on the upcoming challenge in Damon’s life, as he will have to suffer from a very deep loss that he might find it hard to recover from. Sure, the character has managed to get out of some very deep holes in the past, but everyone has their limits, and we’re not sure if we might be getting close to the point where we will actually see those of Damon.
