Teresa Giudice has been the main star of the American reality TV series “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” on Bravo network over the past six seasons but the people behind the show do not want to categorically state that she is.
As a matter of fact, several housewives have been in and out of the show in the course of six years, but Giudice has been the only one that stood firm as a mainstay. If she is not the main star, then she is most certainly the favorite of the producers, notes Christian Today.
Season 7 of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” could have started production earlier this year but the producers and Bravo decided to defer it until the release of Teresa Giudice, who have been incarcerated and is currently serving time for 15 months at the Danbury Correctional facility for bank fraud-related charges.
Early reports have it that Giudice will be officially released on December 23 and filming of the reality TV series would begin soon after.
Filming for spinoff or mother series?
However, there are now reports going around that filming for Season 7 of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” has already began after Bravo cameras were spotted following Melissa Gorga, who is reportedly on the verge of opening her new boutique, cites the Tamara Tattles.
Bravo has yet to come out with a statement or announcement to confirm these reports about starting production for Season 7 of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” though.
What is certain at this time is that there will be a spinoff TV series for “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” officially titled “The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In,” which will be a three-part series that will chronicle the life of Giudice’s husband, Joe, who struggles to raise their four young kids while the reality actress is serving prison time.
Giudice will reportedly appear in the spinoff show through phone calls from the penitentiary, but she will once again start filming work for the mother series when she is released in December.
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In” will air on Bravo on October 11 and will run for the next three Sundays thereafter.
Not part of the special
With an airdate already set on October 11, Tamara Tattles believes that filming for “The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In” is already through and that the recent sighting of Melissa Gorga is indeed for true but for the mother series.
Accordingly, Melissa opening her boutique will not be part of the three-part special with Joe and his kids so it will be a storyline of the mother series.
The outlet also thinks that having the production off and running now makes good sense. It can be recalled that Season 6 filming started during the Holidays, before premiering in July and ending in November.
Assuming production started in October, the other cast members of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” can become the focus instead of Teresa Giudice and they can simply sit around and gossip about Teresa being in prison, stop by and see Joe and his kids and how they are coping up with the arrest thing.
It is possible that Melissa can momentarily serve as the queen bee of the show with Teresa’s girls. With that scenario, it will most likely yank Teresa’s chain and she will come out hot for “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
The reality TV series normally airs from summer to fall, but it seems unlikely to happen this year.
Instead of focusing on the lives of the New Jersey housewives, the spinoff TV series will focus on Teresa’s husband Joe trying to manage their family of four daughters. Accordingly, it will feature daily check-in call from Teresa Giudice and family prison visits too.
The spinoff reality TV show would provide the family sufficient income to tide them over during their time of trepidation.
