The Season 3 finale of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Originals” on The CW saw the Mikaelsons completely being dominated by the wrath of Marcel, played by Charles Michael Davis, who accused them of being responsible for the death of Davina, played by Danielle Campbell.
As expected, the viewers were really shocked with the turn of events during the Season 3 finale. While many were expecting that the Mikaelsons shall be able to turn the tables on the angry Marcel with the return of their sister Rebekah, played by Claire Holt, that did not happen as Marcel was able to overcome them all.
Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, made the ultimate sacrifice to save his family from the wrath of Marcel.
But not before Freya, played by Riley Voelkel, gathered blood from all her siblings to use in a linking spell and puts them all into a deep sleep after tying their lives to Klaus. All four of them were under the spell including Rebekah, Freya, Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies, and Kol, played by Nathaniel Buzolic.
The Season 3 finale episode also saw Marcel watching over Klaus’ body, feeling something for what he just did to his former friend, either regret, remorse, or just sadness. Then he entombs Klaus in some unknown location, apparently set on leaving him that way until he decides to remove the blade and end Klaus’ torment.
The last hope for the Mikaelsons
That leaves Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, as the only hope for the resurgence of the Mikaelsons during its Season 4 premiere expected to hit the small screens on The CW.
Executive producer Michael Narducci almost confirmed that Hayley shall make the next move now that the Mikaelsons are down and she will try to communicate with them through their dreams, reports the Latin Times.
Narducci said that Hayley will look to find a way either by using her own vampire power or by using a witch to try to communicate with the four Mikaelsons in the dream world.
The showrunner said that Hayley has a giant puzzle to figure in order to cure everyone and given that everyone is dying from a wolf bite, fans should already have an idea whom Hayley might turn to for help.
A time jump
Narducci also confirmed that Season 4 of “The Originals” will have a bit of time jump from the Season 3 finale.
The experience in the time jump will be similar to what the audience is feeling and it would really make sense, he assured.
There are also reports going around that with the Mikaelsons already down and out, Marcel will lord it over New Orleans and become the big bad in the upcoming season 4. But Narducci said that it is too premature to give the character that label because he personally does not think that Marcel is a villain in “The Originals.”
He explained that Marcel has his own code of honor and he wants what is best for the city of New Orleans even if it means that he has got to punish and execute the people that would attempt to disrupt the peace that he has established.
For Marcel, the Mikaelsons did something that was morally reprehensible which is why he took his revenge, reports the Parent Herald.
Fans and critics believe that there are only two people to whom Hayley could seek help to bring back the Mikaelsons. One of them is Klaus but she needs to locate him first.
The other one is Hope who previously stated that her blood is an antidote to werewolf venom.
In addition to the plotline of bringing back the Mikaelson, the show would also focus on Vincent Griffith, played by Yusuf Gatewood, now that Marcel is back in the ruling power.
