Previous reports have indicated that much of the upcoming third season of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Originals” will focus on the Mikaelson siblings as they meet and deal with their first offspring for the first time.
Season 3 of the “The Originals” will premiere on The CW on October 8 and it shall primarily focus on the different aspect of the Mikaelson family featuring Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies, and Rebekah, played by Claire Holt.
During the ComicCon 2015 held in San Diego, California last month, showrunners of “The Originals” confirmed that Season 3 will explore the dynamics between the Mikaelson siblings. They also revealed that the Mikaelsons will meet their offspring for the first time.
However, the meeting will not be pretty, they added, as the sired vampires will come to New Orleans seeking power and vengeance.
According to co-creator Julie Plec, while the Mikaelsons have finally put their own parents and their dysfunction to rest, their first line of children will come to town with similar resentments and similar feelings of having been neglected, abused, and just generally mistreated.
Fans would recall how the Originals vanquished those that raised them so they could just imagine what their first line of sired vampires would have to say about them as parents.
More than just the Mikaelson siblings
However, the third season of “The Originals” will also have plenty of things in store for the viewers as the TV series is actually more than just about the Mikaelson siblings.
According to Yibada, powerful witch Vincent Griffith, played by Yusuf Gatewood, shall also be having an important role in the show’s third season.
In an interview during the ComicCon 2015 held in San Diego last month, Gatewood disclosed that his character will play as a mentor to Davina Claire, played by Danielle Campbell. Fans know Davina as the newly appointed Regent of the New Orleans witch community. She used to be a harvest witch and a former member of the French Quarter coven.
But the actor, who was an original cast member of “The Originals” refused to disclose whether his mentorship is to be taken in by Davina hook, line, and sinker.
Vincent will apparently showcase his witch knowledge while dealing with the interesting challenges to be thrown at him in the upcoming season of “The Originals.”
Finn Mikaelson returning
Gatewood, who portrayed the Original family member Finn Mikaelson during the first half of “The Originals” Season 2 also revealed that actor Casper Zafer will return as Finn Mikaelson, but only in the form of flashback scenes.
For those who have been following the series, it would really be interesting to see if Finn would meet Vincent in Season 3 because it was actually the body that he possessed after he was resurrected in the final episode of “The Originals” Season 1.
Meanwhile, it is not just the loyal fans of the popular show that are eagerly waiting for the return to the small screen of “The Originals.” Charles Michael Davis, who portrays the role of Marcel in the TV series, is equally excited for the premiere of the series on The CW in October.
Davis disclosed during the ComicCon 2015 that the third season of “The Originals” will have plenty of action-packed scenes. He also bared that he was elated with the show producers when his request for a gym in the set was granted, details Christian Today.
The 30-year-old actor added that there is going to be some cool fighting scenes in Season 3 of “The Originals” and he is happy to be part of some of those. He, however, teased fans that hopefully they can see Marcel back to his original form.
He also confirmed that there will be several interesting, but mysterious characters coming to New Orleans for Season 3 of “The Originals,” hinting that they’re intelligent, dangerous, and sexy. Davis added that the characters will come in with a twinkle in their eyes, which actually reminded him of how Marcel came during the first season of the hit spin-off TV series of “The Vampire Diaries.”
Co-creator Michael Narducci also revealed that Season 3 will introduce at least three new vampires in the series and they are actually the first vampires who were ever sired in history.
