‘The Legend of Zelda’ Popularity Spawns a Range of Trading Cards from 5 Different Games!

The popularity of the action-adventure video game “The Legend of Zelda” has resulted to the spawning of a range of trading cards from at least five different games of the franchise.

Apparently, the game cards shall feature images from five different “The Legend of Zelda” games including “Twilight Princess,” “Majora’s Mask,” “A Link Between Worlds,” “Ocarina of Time,” and “Skyward Sword,” reports Gamespot.

According to the product description, the base set shall have 85 trading cards, including 23 regular cards, eight gold foil cards, 12 decal stickers, and nine tattoos.

The same description also cited that Nintendo’s “The Legend of Zelda” brand is incredibly popular and has already spawned best-selling games, books, and more.

It also added that the brand shall be having two major releases this year including the HD version of “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess” that already happened in March this year, and another all-new game coming soon.

It did not say if it is the highly-anticipated “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U which has been taking almost an eternity to come out on the gaming consoles since its announcement during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2013.

Reports have it that the next entry in “The Legend of Zelda” video game series is scheduled to be released on the Wii U and Nintendo’s next-generation platform, currently codenamed as NX.

Speculations are rife that the Nintendo NX will officially debut in the gaming community in March next year. As for “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U, it was previously said that the game would finally come out later this year but there appears to be some kind of delay so the game is likely to be released next year.

Part of the Nintendo Selects lineup

Meanwhile, “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D” will be among the five Nintendo games that shall be included in the Nintendo Selects lineup in Europe.

The four other games are going to be “Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros,” LEGO CITY Undercover: The Chase Begins,” “Paper Mario: Sticker Star,” and “Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique,” details VG 24/7.

There are currently 30 titles that form part of the range, which are going to be playable on the Nintendo gaming platforms including the 3DS, the Wii, and the Wii U.

Accordingly, Nintendo 3DS owners in Europe can get the titles on June 24 at a price of about $24. However, there is still no word regarding new titles for Nintendo Selects in North America.

A long-promised game

“The Legend of Zelda” on the Wii U gaming console has long been promised by Nintendo and latest reports have it that it will finally come out next year.

However, critics believe that Nintendo has already committed a major blunder in continuously pushing the release date of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U since 2014.

Accordingly, the Japanese game development company has already broken gamers’ trust with its constant delays on the release date of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U. The game has had three different release dates in the past three years that it already becomes insulting for the gamers.

In fact, many of the gamers no longer believe the pronouncements of Nintendo with regards to “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U.

The game on the gamepad shall also suffer immeasurably once Nintendo releases its latest generation gaming console, the NX platform, which according to reports, would actually signal the phasing out of the Wii U.

In addition, the development of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U is already suspect because of its constant delays in the past. As it is a single delay for a game is expected but once it happens three times in three years, it means that something is terribly wrong with the timeline and the development.

The delays create the assumption that development has been tortured from the start because it makes analysts wonder what kind of fundamental issues that the Japanese game development company is experiencing.
