Now that game developer Naughty Dog has already released the open world action-adventure third-person shooter video game “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” on the PlayStation 4 late last month, its game development focus is now on the action-survival horror game “The Last of Us 2.”
However, as if to give gamers of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” a clue on what game shall Naughty Dog is going to work on, several exciting Easter eggs were intentionally put by the developer on its latest release.
One of them is found right in the epilogue of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” where there is a poster on the wall that looks like a poster for “The Last of Us.”
The Polaroids appear to be covering the full title but it is obvious that it is “The Last of Us.” There is also a tagline underneath that reads ‘American Daughters.’
The character on the poster looks a lot like Ellie but since he or she is wearing a gas-mask, that seems debatable as Ellie is immune to the infection. Some gamers are assuming that it is Ellie’s mother because of the word ‘daughters’ in the tagline, notes Twinfinite.

The poster also featured a ‘Dark Horse Comics’ logo at the bottom. It can be recalled that both Naughty Dog and Dark Horse Comics have previously partnered in some of their game undertakings.
Such kind of teases is nothing new especially if it comes from Naughty Dog, which is known in the gaming community for leaving Easter eggs and hints in its games, details Yibada.
Although Naughty Dog has not said anything official about the “The Last of Us 2,” critics are actually one with the notion that the game is now in development because they based it on the previous statement made by creative director Neil Druckmann.
Back then, Druckmann said that by the time that “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” comes out exclusively on the PlayStation 4, the development of “The Last of Us 2” will already be in progress.
There are also reports saying that the game’s official title is going to be “Days Gone” but Naughty Dog is not confirming or denying it until this time. There is still no word about the gameplay of “The Last of Us 2″ as well.
According to the same reports, the original storyline of the game could actually be twisted or re-focused on different key characters of the upcoming video game.
Huge gamer anticipation
Indicative of the huge gamer anticipation and excitement to the sequel of the 2013 hit game, there has been plenty of rumors and speculations about the video game on the internet particularly its characters and gameplay.
However, all these remain as speculation until Naughty Dog either makes the confirmation or denial to these rumors.
From previous speculations that “The Last of Us 2” shall only feature Ellie and no longer Joel, there are now reports saying that it is also possible that the two will not be featured in the upcoming game since it is going to be a prequel so they will not be part of the film.
In fact, there are some gamers who believe that the journey of Joel and Ellie came to a perfect end in the first game. But there are also others who think that there are more stories to tell with the two characters around.
Those who made the disclosure that “The Last of Us 2” is going to be a prequel of “The Last of Us” were supported by reports that the game will feature Marlene as she journeys towards becoming the leader of The Fireflies.
In addition, there are also reports saying that the next installment of the game shall also feature the journey of Tommy, who happens to be the brother of Joel.
But if it is up to fans and gamers, they would rather see the next game picking up from where it left off at the end of “The Last of Us” and continue playing through the journey of Joel and Ellie.
