The Following Actor Kevin Bacon Back on TV as ‘Tremors’ the Miniseries Premieres on Syfy

After starring in the first movie, Kevin Bacon no longer appeared in any of its four sequels, the last of which is entitled “Tremors 5: Bloodlines” which just came out last year. It should be noted, however, that all four sequels were direct-to-video releases and did not enjoy theater run as much as the first movie did.

He is also coming to the movie as one of the executive producers in order to be able to share his ideas on the popular action-suspense franchise that he himself contributed in creating.

The TV miniseries is produced by Jason Blum’s Blumhouse and Universal Cable Productions, and shall be based on the original movies featuring two ranch hands who discovered massive killer worms terrorizing a small town, details Movieweb.

Andrew Miller is writing the script for the small screen adaptation of “Tremors,” which returns to the fictional Nevada desert town of Perfection, where all the action in the first movie took place.

It has been previously speculated that the show would land on Syfy, which aired the original “Tremors” TV series. The original show only lasted for 13 episodes back in 2003, so fans are waiting how the new TV series will fare among viewers.

It also did not help the cause of the first TV series back then that it did not have Kevin Bacon in the lead whereas the upcoming one shall have the versatile veteran actor back as Valentine McKee.
