In the previous episode of Season 3 of the superhero TV series, “The Flash”, Gorilla Grodd seems to be priming for the arrival of The Flash.
But it turned out that Grodd was outsmarted by the Scarlet Speedster after playing dead in the bunk in order to help his friends escape and safely return to Earth 1.
A recent promo clip from the upcoming episode revealed that Gorilla Grodd is about to travel back to Earth-1 along with his army of Gorillas to invade Central City to seek revenge and even the score. Barry and Team Flash would soon realize that it would not just be a revenge against them but Grodd’s revenge on humans.
The arrival of the gorilla army in Central City is also consistent with one of the headlines Barry saw in the future timeline before the love of his life, Iris West, died in the hands of villain Savitar.
What is good about the arrival of the gorilla army is that the timeline has not been changed yet.
Picking up from the previous episode, Jesse Quick traveled back to Earth 1 to ask help from her friends as she explains that her father Harrison Wells went off for an expedition in Gorilla City and eventually went missing.
In order to help Jesse save Harrison Wells, Barry along with Caitlin and Julian decided to visit Earth 2 with the help of Cisco’s vibe powers.
They discovered it to be not as easy as Team Flash they fell into Grodd’s trap as the three of them were knocked down by his tranquilizer darts.
Fans of “The Flash” were able to see a glimpse of Solivar, who is the sitting ruler of Gorilla City, and who directed Barry to fight the big gorilla in the arena to be able to save his friends.
It was actually Solivar’s way of showing Barry his swift decision-making prowess and brand of brutal justice.
However, Barry and his friends realized later that it was all Gorilla Grodd’s secret plan to lure them in to kill Solivar and make him the ruler of Gorilla City.
But Solivar and his army of gorilla also possess a psychic power similar to Grodd which made the latter feel insecure of not being the toughest and smartest gorilla in Gorilla City.
But his plan did not stop there. Apparently, he wanted to get back to Earth 1 after assuming the leadership of Gorilla City to get even with all the humans that banished him to Earth 2.
Meanwhile, sparks fly for Jesse Quick and Wally West in the episode even though Jesse does not want to reveal her true feelings for Wally.
It can be recalled that Wally became upset after learning the effects of the particle accelerator to Jesse as she also became a speedster.
Realizing that they are both speedsters, Jesse became skeptical if Wally would also have the same feelings for her since they are both aware of their own limitations.
The good news for viewers in the next episode of “The Flash,” is that it will not just be Barry and Team Flash who will save Central City from the onslaught of the gorilla army, there will also be three speedsters at work – The Flash, Kid Flash, and Jesse Quick.
It would be a marvel to behold to see three superhero speedsters at work just like in the DC Comics.
It seems like the producers decided to give the scene a green light even though they know that it would entail huge budget considering that a lot of CGIs would be used.
