The Expendables 4 Action Ensemble Likely to Feature 3 Wrestlers and 2 UFC Fighters!

Leave it to Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone to keep the excitement coming for “The Expendables 4” as latest reports have it that in addition to bringing back the popular WWE wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin to the action film franchise, the “Rambo” actor is also looking at convincing UFC Woman’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey to return as well.

Stone Cold Steve Austin was part of the first “The Expendables” film where he played as the key henchman of Eric Roberts and they formed the main villains for the movie shown in 2010, notes Movie News Guide.

However, those who have seen the first movie also saw that Stone Cold Steve Austin was left in the dungeon after being defeated by the combined team of Stallone and Jason Statham as the place exploded.

So it is not clear how the producers will intend to bring him back from his seeming death in the first “The Expendables” movie. But as the saying goes in films and TV series, as long as there is no dead body, the character can always find a way to come back.

Ronda Rousey, on the other hand, was already part of “The Expendables 3” shown in 2014 and she also helped bring in a lot of viewers to the franchise considering her stature as arguably the greatest female fighter in the UFC today, or perhaps in the whole of mixed martial arts.

Three popular wrestlers in the franchise

The addition of Stone Cold Steve Austin shall bring to three the total number of WWE wrestlers who shall be part of “The Expendables 4,” with the other two being the equally popular Hulk Hogan and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

While no specific details on “The Expendables 4” plotline has been made available as of yet, Hulk Hogan confirmed in an interview last year that he has been in casual talks with Stallone where they discussed the possibility of him appearing as the villain in the fourth installment of the action film franchise.

After Hulk Hogan, reports have it that Sylvester Stallone has also considered The Rock to be part of “The Expendables 4.” It came as an offshoot of the wrestler-actor expressing interest in getting involved with “The Expendables 4” after seeing Ronda Rousey being part of the third movie and also on the idea thrown his way by Terry Crews on an online public forum some time ago.

Apparently, The Rock said then that if he would be asked to become part of “The Expendables” franchise, he would gladly accept it.

However, he added that he does not want to be on Stallone’s team and be buddies with The Expendables. He said that he wants to be the bad guy because he wants to hurt every single one of The Expendables and tell them to send their soul to heaven because their behind is his.

Should the participation on “The Expendables 4” of Austin, Hogan, and The Rock materialize, then the three main villains of the film would all be wrestlers, notes Youth Health Mag.

Two UFC fighters

It should be noted that Ronda Rousey is not the only UFC fighter in “The Expendables” franchise as Randy Couture is also part of the action ensemble right from the start.

In other words, the two UFC fighters would be on the good guys side while the three WWE wrestlers would be the bad guys. In any case, fans of both the WWE and the UFC would surely troop to the movies to watch the film not only for their favorite wrestlers or UFC fighters but also the other action stars including Stallone, Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Terry Crews, Harrison Ford, and a few more.
