Simon Helberg, who plays the character of Howard, has claimed that he would personally want to see his father introduced to the story, but he also doesn’t seem to have any idea about what the writers might be planning for him. It’s definitely going to be interesting to watch the next few episodes of the show in anticipation of that revelation.
Howard was excited about the opportunity of seeing his father on the show as he saw it as a great way to learn something new about a character that he’s been playing for seven years already. He sounded pleased with the way the writers of the show have been handling him in general.
On the other hand, the producers can still keep introducing new elements to Howard’s character without having to touch his father’s side of the story just yet.
One thing is certain right now though. If the producers don’t start paying more attention to Howard soon, fans might start getting annoyed with the development of his character, to the point where that can affect the popularity of the entire show. Of course, it would take a while for that to happen, but the producers should definitely be on the lookout for fresh ideas for adding something new to the character.
