‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 9 May Bring Back the Engagement Ring that Sheldon Wanted to Give Amy During the Past Season Finale!

Episode 11 of Season 9 of the American sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” was aired on CBS on December 17 and fans not only talked about the reunion of Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons, and Amy, played by Mayim Bialik, they also thought about seeing the relationship of ‘Shamy’ finally getting deeper.

The episode titled “The Opening Night Excitation” finally saw the long-awaited sex scene between Sheldon and Amy, which was a big event in the TV series, notes Australia Network News.

The title of the episode had something to do with the formal opening in worldwide theaters of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” also on the same day, of which the male stars of the TV series are great fans of.

Because Shamy consummated the sex that has been there in their relationship for the taking since several seasons ago, fans are now thinking of whether a wedding of Sheldon and Amy might be in the works.

According to Steve Molaro, showrunner of “The Big Bang Theory,” the sex between Sheldon and Amy was something that the writers had been talking about early on and he believes that the act evolves naturally in the course of the couple’s five and a half years of relationship, notes the Christian Post.

Engagement ring

Molaro was also asked in a recent interview whether the engagement ring that Sheldon showed during the Season 8 finale will resurface again in the future episode of Season 9 of “The Big Bang Theory.”

The showrunner confirmed that at some point in the near future, the engagement ring will come up again. He added that it is not going to be immediately, but they have certainly not forgotten about it.

The only question that remains is whether that engagement ring that Sheldon was holding on during the Season 8 finale will come out during Season 9 or the next season.

But since the two are back together again, the chances of the engagement ring showing up again this season are quite high.

Although if it is up to Molaro,  he would surely play around a bit more on the reunion of Shamy before bringing out the engagement ring again. And that is the beauty of having multiple characters on a TV sitcom as fans and viewers have plenty of personalities and plotlines to follow.

A lot of dynamics to explore

In fact, the showrunner recently talked about what is in store for the seven characters of “The Big Bang Theory” by saying that there is still a lot of dynamics to explore.

He explained that the way the show depicts the lives of the characters, who have been growing in front of viewers for more than eight years now, reflects real life, where small events occur on a daily basis.

But where major events like someone getting married or having a baby also happens now and then. He said that it is also nice to have such so-called tent-pole events and the show would not miss to do it too if an opportunity presents itself.

Season 9 of “The Big Bang Theory” will return to CBS on January 7 with its 12th episode after a three-week winter break.

It was actually during the 10th episode of “The Big Bang Theory” where Sheldon and Amy reunited once again.

The tune of a Beach Boys song during episode 10, titled “The Earworm Reverberation” made Sheldon realized how important Amy is to his life. So he rushed to Amy to make amends only to find Amy kissing Dave.

But instead of losing hope, Sheldon went on with the interruption and said that Amy is the earworm in his heart and eventually told her that he is still in love with him.

Despite the presence of Dave, Amy also confessed her love to Sheldon to wrap up the episode.

Before Sheldon got the strength to finally say what he felt for Amy, he has actually gotten help from a dear old and previously dead friend in the person of Professor Proton, played by guest star Bob Newhart.
