Howard and Bernadette are the main stars of the American sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS but in the upcoming Season 10 of the TV series, a good portion of the storylines shall revolve around them especially with Bernadette’s pregnancy and her subsequent childbirth.
Showrunner Steve Molaro revealed recently that they will play around with Bernadette’s pregnancy and not rush to her and Howard becoming parents right off the bat in Season 10.
There will be plenty of subplots to play around in “The Big Bang Theory” Season 10 before Bernadette finally gives birth in the latter episodes, Molaro said.
Back in Season 9, Bernadette informed Howard that she was pregnant. The couple will be looking to explore their duties more as parents to their upcoming kid so much so that they might lose their charm as a couple.
The change will definitely have an effect on the couple because once their child is born, each of their lives will revolve around their new baby. So fans should no longer expect coolness from Howard, reports Movie News Guide.
There are also reports saying that Bernadette shall be completely treading on a new territory after she gives birth and it would be interesting to find out how she would handle it.
It is possible that she will find that hanging around with Penny and Amy will already become difficult for her because her mind would continuously be revolving around her baby, and pretty soon, all of them shall be talking about their respective kids.
As a sitcom, the couple moments of Howard and Bernadette would surely be adorable, albeit funny, since both of them are newbies in the parenting department.
Hinting Season 10 as the last for the show
Kunal Nayyar has once again hinted that Season 10 of “The Big Bang Theory” may possibly be the last for the TV series.
Although the show is doing well in the ratings, the producers are facing a dilemma on skyrocketing salaries of the main cast members.
According to the latest reports, three of the main stars including Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper; Johnny Galecki, who plays Leonard Hofstadter; and Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny; shall each be receiving a salary of $1 million each per episode in Season 10.
That is a multi-million dollar challenge that the producers will have to deal with in Season 10 of “The Big Bang Theory.”
In a recent interview, Nayyar said that all of them in the cast realize how lucky they are on the show and they do treasure it. He added that they are not sure if there will be another show like “The Big Bang Theory,” but one thing they know is that it is going to be special, notes Game & Guide.
It was the second hint coming from the actor as immediately after the Season 9 finale of “The Big Bang Theory” in May, he was quoted as saying that the upcoming Season 10 of the sitcom might be its last because his contract is only good until Season 10.
The parents’ tryst
The Season 9 finale of “The Big Bang Theory” that aired on CBS on May 12 ended in a cliffhanger when Judd Hirsch as Leonard’s father Alfred Hofstadter, and Sheldon’s mother Mary Cooper, played by Laurie Metcalf, seemingly eloped.
So when the Season 10 premieres on September 19, fans would know what really happened to Alfred and Mary and whether something romantic came out from their tryst.
Leonard’s mom Beverly, played by Christine Baranski, was also part of the chaos during the Season 9 finale but it has nothing to do with her getting jealous about the flings of Alfred since they have long been estranged and divorced.
