‘Tekken 7’ Promises to be the Most Complete and Enhanced Version to Date When it Makes the Leap from the Arcades to the Consoles!

The fighting game “Tekken 7” from Japanese game developer Bandai Namco has long been awaited on the gaming consoles ever since its arcade version came out in Japan in July of last year.

Back then, Bandai Namco confirmed that there will be a version of “Tekken 7” on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One but the game development company did not say exactly when would that be released.

It’s been almost a year since that announcement yet up until now, there is still no word as to the official release date of “Tekken 7” on the gaming consoles.

Gamer expectations on “Tekken 7” were also heightened all the more when series producer Katsuhiro Harada said in a recent interview that when the game makes the leap from the arcades to the gaming consoles, it is going to be the most complete and enhanced version to date, notes News Everyday.

Harada also added that Bandai Namco is also working on a special content for “Tekken 7” particularly for PlayStation 4 gamers, though he did not specify or hinted any detail about it.

Speculations are rife that “Tekken 7” might finally release on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One before the end of this year.

Reports also have it that Bandai Namco needed to release the game before the end of this year because it will collaborate with Capcom for the development of the crossover fighting game “Tekken X Street Fighter” soon after.

Capcom has apparently freed up its schedule after recently launching its “Street Fighter V” video game which means that it is just waiting for Bandai Namco to complete its work on “Tekken 7.”

Changing tunes

During the Paris Games Week in October last year, Harada himself confirmed that a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of “Tekken 7” was in the works, with the PlayStation 4 version possibly coming out with PlayStation VR support.

But Harada changed his tune some two months later when he said that “Tekken 7” is not in the works at the moment and it would not happen anytime soon.

He then changed his tune some months later when he said that he is actually overseeing the development of “Tekken 7” with the collaborative efforts of the Tekken Team in Bandai Namco Entertainment, notes Crossmap.

Harada has been involved in the fighting video game franchise for the last 20 years so it is unlikely for him to stop at “Tekken 7,” which according to reports, shall be powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 4.

Would have been strategic

There were reports late last year saying that the PS4 version of “Tekken 7” might come out either in the second or third quarter of this year.

In fact, it is the reason why speculations are rife that “Tekken 7” might use the PlayStation Experience (PSX) event in the second half of this year as the springboard for its launching to the Sony’s current generation gaming console.

Launching and releasing the game at the PSX would be a strategic move for Bandai Namco since it is a gaming event where thousands of people and PS4 gamers gather to get the latest about the gaming world.

However, Harada himself denied the speculations that “Tekken 7” PS4 version would come out at the PSX. But he did not explain the reason why or disclosed any detail as to when the game would finally come out on the PlayStation 4.

Tekken 7

But if there’s something that has greatly added enthusiasm and excitement to the arrival of “Tekken 7,” it is the reports that say that when the game comes out it will also be able to provide VR support on the PlayStation 4.

Incidentally, the fighting game “Tekken 7” has started rolling out to North American video game arcades through a tour beginning last month.
