The character Jake is the default game character and the face of the mobile video game franchise. He also appears in the game icons. All other characters must be unlocked in the course of playing the game.
Unlocking characters is done in one of two ways. Some characters are unlocked via the collection of character attributes in the course of the game. An attribute may be an article of clothing or a prop. Other characters are available by in-app purchase.
The subway inspector and his dog chase the characters. While he is always the same character, his uniform changes according to the location. During the New Orleans edition of “Subway Surfers,” the inspector was replaced by Frankenstein with a skeleton dog. And during the second London edition, he was dressed as Santa Claus. During the second Rome edition of the mobile video game, and the third Paris edition, the inspector was dressed as the Easter Bunny.
The regular changes in “Subway Surfers” make up for new excitement to the game so while the running and strategies and goals remain the same, the visual changes and improvements will make the player feel that it is an altogether different game from the one he played or mastered at least a month ago.
