There have been rumors of late saying that former lovers Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez would sort of reunite in the upcoming Season 9 of the reality singing competition TV show “The Voice.”
The reunion would not be anything romantic as speculations indicate that Justin Bieber would be one of the show’s judges while Selena Gomez would play the role of being a mentor to contestants.
It turns out that only half of the rumors is true and the other half merely wishful thinking of fans. Apparently, Selena Gomez has been confirmed to take on the mentorship job on “The Voice” Season 9 for Gwen Stefani’s team, cites the Franchise Herald.
A source close to the 23-year-old singer confirmed that Selena will be surprising as a mentor even at her young age because she exceeded everyone’s expectations.
Selena will join “The Voice” co-mentors John Fogerty, Brad Paisley and Missy Elliott for the teams of Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell Williams, respectively.
During the previous season of the reality singing competition show, the mentor-artists included Nick Jonas, Meghan Trainor, and Ellie Goulding.
Wrong rumors
With all the seats already filled up for both the roster of judges and mentors, it is now clear that the rumors about Justin Bieber sitting in as one of the judges of “The Voice” Season 9 is wrong.
A source from the show said that Blake and Adam are mainstays and will not be removed as judges. Pharrell and Gwen are fan-favorites too so they cannot be taken out of the show just yet.
Rumors have been rife previously that Blake and Adam will be joined in the next season of “The Voice” by Usher and Justin Bieber to see how they all interact with a girl. “The Voice” Season 9 will air on NBC on September 21.
A song about Selena
Justin Bieber’s new single “What Do You Mean” will soon be released and the 21-year-old pop singer was very open in admitting that the song was all about his relationship with Selena Gomez.
During a previous interview, Justin said that the song is about girls who are fickle-minded or who like to change their minds a lot, which is an obvious diss on Selena Gomez, notes Celeb Dirty Laundry.
It can be remembered that one of the reasons why Justin and Selena broke up was because she alleged that Justin cheated on her with Kendall Jenner. The accusations ended in a bitter feud between Selena and Kendall for over a year now. So Kendall’s sister, Kylie is understandably taking the side of Kendall on the issue.
Recently, Kylie shared a photo of herself on her Instagram account promoting Justin Bieber’s new diss song about Selena.
The Biebs fans believe that Kylie is just doing Justin Bieber a favor by helping him promote his upcoming single but fans of Selena Gomez seem to think that Kylie is subliminally taking a swipe at the pop singer.
Last month, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were spotted sitting at the poolside of the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, enjoying the LA summertime, and apparently showing some shades of their famous PDAs of yore.
Witnesses described the pair as not really concerned about what the public would say in what seems to be like the rekindling of their romance for the umpteenth time. Selena was even seen at one point sitting on Justin’s lap.
But before fans of Jelena start swooning all over the place and announced to the whole world that their music idols are back together again, a source close to the pair disclosed that Justin and Selena are not a couple, or not just yet.
The source added that the pair has not rekindled their romance, which they ended late last year. Accordingly, the two are now amicable exes and have become friends with each other.
