The second season of the American action drama TV series “Scorpion” on CBS only has three episodes remaining and based on the synopsis of the season finale episode to air on April 25, the show would have a major cliffhanger involving Toby Curtis, played by Eddie Kaye Thomas.

Given how the TV series was building up for a major windup during the last couple of episodes, fans and critics were already expecting that the Season 2 finale of “Scorpion” was going to be some sort of high-octane thrill ride, notes Cartermatt.

Episode 24, which is going to be the final episode for Season 2, is titled “Toby or Not Toby” and based on the synopsis, it is going to put Toby in grave danger as a former ex-Scorpion team member in the person of Mark Collins, played by Joshua Leonard, will kidnap the former and will threaten to kill him if the his cunning demands are not met.

Toby is one of the fan-favorite characters in “Scorpion” especially with his romance with Happy Quinn, played by Jadyn Wong. Any attempt of the show to kill off his character would really create some kind of revulsion among the loyal fans of the show.

However, some critics believe that Toby shall be able to survive the ordeal and his near-death experience will give him a new perspective on things and prompt him to think a little bit more in terms of what he wants from his own life in the future.

School of ‘Hard Knox’

Meanwhile, episode 22 of “Scorpion” will air on April 11 and based on the synopsis, Team Scorpion will be tasked to steal an artifact to test the security of Fort Knox.

The episode is titled “Hard Knox” and it will show that the US Department of Defense will hire Team Scorpion to test the facility’s security by asking them to break in and steal a precious artifact at Fort Knox.

But after Team Scorpion’s first attempt, they decide to break in the second time around when they find a dangerous object inside the artifact, details the Ecumenical News.

The cast members of “Scorpion” actually gave some hints about the upcoming 22nd episode during the WonderCon in LA.

They said that at first, the team of geniuses is skeptical on the operation that they are asked to do. Although they were offered a huge amount of money as a reward for their service and the government assured them that it will be 100% behind them, they all believe that it is a dubious offer. Thus, they all agreed to take the case with caution.

Doubtful of the government

Ari Stidham, the actor who plays Sylvester Dodd in “Scorpion,” says that the members of Team Scorpion feel really bad about the case because it involves real guns and real security guards who will be out to try to kill them all because its Fort-freaking Knox.

He explained that the whole episode is a question mark for all of them on whether the government does have Team Scorpion’s backs. They are also wondering whether the government wants to really test the security of Fort Knox or it is covering something up that is why Team Scorpion is very reluctant with the ‘gig.’

Eddie Kaye Thomas added that the plan of Team Scorpion would not go smoothly and hinted that they will almost die in doing so. However, he said that there is nobody who is going to die at Fort Knox but it will get very close. That would surely give fans a big sigh of relief.

The TV series is loosely based on the life of Walter O’Brien, a genius and computer expert, who works together with his other genius friends to solve complex global problems and save lives.

The relationship of Walter O’Brien, played by Elyes Gabel, and Paige Dineen, played by Katharine McPhee, is one of the more interesting plotlines of “Scorpion.”
