Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Discounted Prices May Mean that Galaxy Tab S Pro is Coming Soon!

It is a common notion that every time prices of gadgets drop in the market either through a lateral price reduction or through a limited-period discount offer, it is often part of the strategy of the device manufacturer to signify the arrival of the particular gadget’s successor.

In some cases, manufacturers reduce the prices of their devices as part of market correction especially if they are seeing that their device is being swallowed by the competition or that it priced itself out of the market.

Samsung’s latest flagship tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, is now being offered by retail giant Best Buy at a discounted price of $100 for both its 8-inch and 9.7-inch variants and some observers believe that it has something to do with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S Pro.

Apple has just released its 12-inch iPad Pro on September 9 and it is likely that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will also be coming out of the market as scheduled next month. It has been reported previously that Samsung would like to make it a three-cornered fight for the hybrid laptop/tablet segment with its own Galaxy Tab S Pro, although everything about its specifications and features remains as mere speculations at this time.

Wanting to compete better

It may also be a market pricing strategy for the Korean tech giant as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is actually pricier than its direct counterpart in the Apple roster – the iPad Air 2 and the newly-released iPad mini 4.

Keeping its high price in the market would make buyers lean towards buying the more popular iPad lines instead.

According to the International Business Times, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8-inch variant is now selling for $299.99 while the 9.7-inch model is being retailed at a price of $399.99. But the offer from Best Buy comes with a trade-in requirement. Customers can enjoy such discounts if they would give an old but working tablet of any brand, whether be it Samsung or not.

Best Android tablet around

The Greenbot recently made a review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 along with the Nexus 9 and the Dell Venue 8, and the Korean tech giant’s tablet turned out to be the better one in its Android league.

It is considered one of the best Android tablets available in the market today despite the fact that it is only an incremental update from its predecessor.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 offers solid performance, a remarkable display, light as air (with reference to the iPad Air as well), and comes in two very thin and quite comfortable to hold sizes.

Its size and weight are its major improvement from the 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab S launched last year. But unlike the Galaxy Tab S last year which tried very hard to compare itself with the iPad Air, the Galaxy Tab S2 has decided to just stick and reign supreme in the Android tablet market.

In fact, it’s not even concerned if its OS is running on a stock Android because it is more after the enjoyment of consumers who are on the lookout for a stylish and powerful functional tablet for their everyday use be it at home or at work.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 has made its official touchdown to the retail markets in South Korea, the US, Hong Kong, and in some other countries last month and based on the initial feedbacks and reviews of consumers and gadget experts, it looks like the Korean tech giant has nailed an excellent tablet.

Right off the store shelves, the slim build and comely exterior appearance of Samsung’s latest tablet already look impressive. It is clear that when Samsung said that it is positioning its Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 to compete head-on with the iPad Air 2, it really means business and it looks like Apple now has a very worthy competitor in the field.

When Apple released the iPad Air 2 in October last year, the American tech giant has actually set the standard in today’s new breed of tablets and it seems that Samsung has made it more exciting with the release of the Galaxy Tab S2.

In terms of aspect ratio, the new tablet from Samsung has gone 4:3, which is the same specification for the iPad Air 2 and also for the Microsoft Surface 3. Its 9.7-inch display screen is also identical to the iPad Air 2. Samsung has also released an 8-inch version of the Galaxy Tab S2, which will rival the iPad mini 3 and the newly-released iPad mini 4.
