The Samsung Galaxy S6 made its official debut in March this year and subsequently got into the retail markets the following month.
Barely three months old into the market however, there are already reports about its upcoming successor, the Samsung Galaxy S7, already spreading like wildfire in the internet.
But given the time element, most of these, if not all, are speculations and rumors so every bit of it should be taken with a grain of fine salt.
What is consistent among the rumors spreading around is that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be far more than an iterative update from its predecessor. The Korean tech company has significantly shown that it can come up with a massive departure from the norm, the way it did with the Samsung Galaxy S6, details Trusted Reviews.
The major deviation that Samsung made on the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge were so successful that many critics have praised the Korean tech company for it, and expect the company to make a rebound for its declining sales in three successive quarters during the previous fiscal year.
With the disappointment that was the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Korean tech company has lose its grip on its reputation as the world’s No. 1 smartphone manufacturer to American tech giant Apple.
The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus that Apple launched in September last year simply swallowed the supposedly captured market for the Samsung Galaxy S5 launched in March last year, that the Korean tech company had to bleed for the sales of its 2014 flagship smartphone.
The problem was brought about by the fact that Samsung hardly made any major change on the Galaxy S5 compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S4, which turned off a good number of Samsung fanatics and forced them to choose the latest iPhones.
Apparently, Samsung has learned its lessons the hard way that is why when it was time to work on the Samsung Galaxy S6, it went seriously back to the drawing board and dubbed it as project zero, which means that the company was actually building a smartphone from the ground up.
True enough, the Samsung Galaxy S6 was not just a drastic deviation from the Samsung Galaxy S5, it was also an innovation marvel in terms of exterior appearance that many smartphone fans have started trooping back to their traditional favorite.
Rumored features and specifications
The Latinos Post detailed some of the rumored features and specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S7 including its reported crystal-clear 4K Super AMOLED display that shall be highlighted by the emergence of 4K technology on the device and other Samsung products henceforth.
It has also been reported that the Samsung Galaxy S7 shall be powered by a 64-bit Exynos 3.5GHz processor with 4GB of RAM, which means it would be very fast in terms of data processing. Accordingly, internal storage options would come in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants.
Using Exynos processor would mean that Samsung will be dropping the Qualcomm Snapdragon processors that it has been using on its flagship smartphones for quite some time now.
One of the astounding rumors thus far is that that Galaxy S7 shall reportedly feature a 30-megapixel rear-facing camera, which should come out as the first among smartphones if the report is true.
The device shall also have a 10-megapixel front snapper, which is another first among handsets currently out in the market today or those coming within the year.
A rumor that appears to be a deviation from the Samsung tradition is that the Korean tech giant will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S7 early in the second half of 2016 to coincide with the release of the Galaxy Note 5.
