Do you want to install the latest version of the latest custom ROM for your Samsung Galaxy S2? According to an online source, this week there is a new version of the Android Lollipop software that you can download and install on your device. The Samsung Galaxy S2, model number GT-I9100) is one of the most popular smartphones on the market for custom ROM’s and other side-loaded programs. Just a couple of weeks ago, there was a custom ROM called Android 5.0.1 available and now Android Lollipop 5.0.2 is ready to go.
The custom Android ROM is full of bug fixes and other features that might make it worth the download and install time. The custom firmware that you are downloading is based on the AOSP, or the Android Open Source Project, 5.0.2 Lollipop and CyanogenMod ROM. If you are not sure what either of those terms mean, then you might not want to go through this process as it is only recommended for those that know what they are doing.
Just like any other custom software that you can download from a third party and install on a device like the Samsung Galaxy S2, it is filled with customized features. According to a changelog that was posted to an online source, the “BeanStalk” software will include changes to the Lockscreen background, enabling of all widgets, slider shortcuts, static lockscreen shortcuts, LCD density options, Default App grip option, custom carrier label, dual pane options, notification count shown, customizable notification bar, clock and date options and so much more.
Just like with all of the other versions of this software, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind before downloading and installing. This software can only be downloaded and installed on the Samsung Galaxy S2, so make sure you have the right model before you get started. Once you have it installed, the warranty on your phone will be void and you will not get additional updates from your carrier.
Make sure that you have everything you want to save, moved to your computer before installing the ROM as it does require a full memory wipe. The device must be rooted first and if you do not know what that means, this is not for you. Install USB drivers on your PC before starting as well, otherwise your phone will not be recognized by your computer. And last but not least, you will need about 80 percent of your battery in order for the process to complete the right way.
