Deadpool 2’s director problems seem to have been solved, but from the looks of it, it seems like the hit superhero sequel is going full steam ahead. What’s filming? A Vancouver production site has a new listing for Deadpool 2. The site reports that Deadpool 2 will start filming in June 2017 in Vancouver.
David Leitch, the co-director of John Wick, will replace Tim Miller, the original Deadpool director for the upcoming sequel. As expected, Ryan Reynolds will be reprising his role as Deadpool. He is the Merc with the Mouth for the third time. Technically, he was there in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In Deadpool 2, we will see two of his allies thrown into the mix.
In the post-credits scene for the original Deadpool movie, we saw Cable being teased. He is a time traveling mutant/mercenary/soldier, who has co-headlined various comics with Deadpool in the past.
Domino is the second important addition. She is the right-hand women of Cable and sometimes also his lover. She has the mutant ability of extremely good luck. In the past, she has served as an ally of Deadpool and has often taken over leadership of his team named Mercs for Money, during recent events of the Marvel Comic Universe. Meanwhile, the Deadpool 2 production is speeding up with the director replacement finalized and implemented.
There are loads of rumors and speculations regarding what might come in the future which includes the potential addition of Morena Baccarin, playing the role of Copycat. In the first Deadpool film, Ryan Reynolds faced Ajax, but he will be facing much bigger villains in the future. The big question is who will be playing Cable in the next movie.
Will it be Stephen Lang from Don’t Breathe? Reports suggest that the actor has been campaigning for the role by showing off his awesome physique while training. Kyle Chandler of Friday Night Lights has also been rumored to have been considered for Cable’s role.
Earlier rumors suggested that Chandler was being eyed by Miller to be considered for Cable’s role. Sadly, Reynolds didn’t agree with him, and it put a strain on their working relationship.
Taskmaster is another mercenary/villain who has been rumored to appear in Deadpool 2. He has the power to copy the fighting style of another non-super-powered combatant by just observing him during the encounter.
He utilizes this skill by selling his moves and training various criminal organizations. However, Deadpool is too difficult for even the Taskmaster to imitate since the former is highly unpredictable.
We may witness an interesting clash between the two of them. Another probable addition to the list of villains is The Puppet Master. He can control people by transforming them into puppets by making use of radioactive clay.
Due to Deadpool’s unpredictable mind, he too finds it difficult to overpower him using his ability. We can also see Madcap as another supervillain.
He is a mutant with healing powers equal to that of Wolverine if not more. He has the power to get into people’s heads and is considered to be Marvel’s version of The Joker.
On one occasion, Deadpool and Madcap fused together and the latter became one of the voices in Deadpool’s head. Deadpool 2 is expected to be released on 12th January 2018.
In the meantime, according to Inverse, there is something fishy about the director swap in Deadpool 2.
