Venture Capital Post reports that Shaw Media is still in talks with ABC about the show’s possible renewal. Shaw Media’s senior vice president Christon Shipton says that for a Canadian-produced show to have seven seasons on American television would be something to be really proud of as only a few Canadian shows reaches this mark, adding that they are working really hard to give Season 7 a go.
But whether the show will have its Season 7 or not, one thing’s for sure, showrunner Tassie Cameron will not be joining ‘Rookie Blue’ after Season 6.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cameron explains her decision saying she feels like she already told the story she wanted to tell fans, and as hard as it is to leave after five years and working on 74 episodes, she believes she’s made the show satisfying. If Season 7 is green-lit, Cameron expressed her willingness to know where the characters will be at with their lives.
