‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ Likely to be the Last in the Film Franchise, But Rumors Persists There’s Still One More, And Details

The last film of the franchise, “Resident Evil: Retribution,” was released in 2012 and did very well in the box office, grossing a remarkable $240 million worldwide, making it the second highest-grossing film of the franchise.

The fifth installment saw Alice battling it out with the Red Queen as the latter attempted to put an end to all of human race. Speculations about the movie’s plot suggest that Alice will finally find a way to solve all her struggles against the Umbrella Corporation and put an end to the Red Queen.

According to Venture Capital Post, the official synopsis for the film is due to come out later this year most likely along with the film’s initial trailer. Also, some actors from the previous “Resident Evil” films are already confirmed to reprise their roles for one more movie.

Wentworth Miller, who plays Chris Redfield, will reprise his role after appearing in 2010’s “Resident Evil Afterlife.” Chinese actress Li Bingbing is also confirmed to reprise her role as Ada Wong. Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Ali Larter, and Leo Kennedy are also set to return to the franchise ender as Rain Ocampo, Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, and Johann Urb, respectively, although an official confirmation about their return has yet to be announced by either Sony or Screen Gems.
