“Resident Evil” managed to survive for quite a long as a franchise and it’s curious to see where it would end up. There still seems to be a lot of potential in those games and players should probably not expect their production to end anytime soon, but at the same time, the developers should be careful not to get into the dangerous zone of clichés.
Because after all, no matter how we look at it, it’s a zombie franchise above all, and this is a genre that’s been explored inside and out over the last decade by various companies. “Resident Evil” used to be somewhat original in this regard but that’s not really the case anymore.
Perhaps that’s why the franchise has started to branch off into such strange directions with regards to its gameplay lately, and the developers are obviously toying with new ideas here and there.
What does the future hold for “Resident Evil” fans? It’s hard to tell, but their favorite franchise definitely still has a lot of potential to be explored, and we would be curious to see what the developers choose to do with it next. There have been plenty of rumors about possible upcoming developments and it’s a bit hard to figure out what to follow, but at least there is strong indication that there is a lot of activity on that front.
