However, one week before it officially made it to the video game shelves on retail stores, the ending of “Resident Evil 7” has reportedly been leaked on Reddit.

Capcom has yet to confirm the leak of the supposed ending so it should be taken with a fine grain of salt. After all, fake news has become very common online these days.

Many critics were saying that the leak on the game, officially called as “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” was legit because the public forum is usually more reliable compared to other online sites, notes iDigital Times.

A revamped series

What made “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” quite unique from its predecessor game is the fact that Capcom has actually revamped the series. It somehow took the series to its roots based on the feedbacks of the fans after the disappointment of the last two games of the franchise.

Instead of a third-person shooter, the gamer now plays in first-person, walking in the footsteps of a man named Ethan. The unfortunate soul found his way into the Baker Family residence while investigating the disappearance of his wife Mia.

Ethan’s investigation leads him to Dulvey, Louisiana where they love to make houses with blind corners. Some critics find it absurd why anyone wouldn’t want an open floor plan which is really a weird detail to focus on.

Not that an open floor plan would help Ethan since the Baker family isn’t exactly human. They like to throw dinner parties, yet have a strange way of entertaining their guests.

The Bakers show affection by stabbing each other and preparing lovely meals of rotted meat.

Massive leak about the game in December

Prior to the leak of the supposed ending to “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” this month, there was also a massive leak on the game that made its way to Reddit last month.

Reports back then have it that Capcom was so frustrated with it because the supposed leak was extremely detailed, notes iDigital Times in another report.

The leak actually broke down what happens in the game chapter by chapter. The leaker also claimed to have found three “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” DLC packs in the game’s code including weapons and stuff.

Because of the detailed leak, it was possible that a couple of heads actually rolled over at Capcom as a result, notes some critics.

In any case, the leak also helped hype the promotion for the game because thus far, it seems to be paying off as “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” appears to be getting a good reception both on the gaming consoles and the PC.

Incidentally, there was some kind of confusion with regards to the official title of the horror survival video game. In Japan, “Resident Evil” games are called as “Biohazard.”

The new game has taken the psychological horror route, similar to “Silent Hill” and the aborted “P.T.” And it is definitely a lot better compared to the huge disappointment that was “Resident Evil 6.”

Capcom has released a series of teaser videos detailing the game’s mechanics and design elements prior to its release to heighten the gamer excitement and anticipation for “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.”

There is a total of eight teaser videos that have been released by Capcom on “Resident Evil 7” prior to its release and collectively, they actually provided a cohesive whole of the old tricks that the Japanese game developer employed on a new game.

“Resident Evil 7” is actually 11th game in the “Resident Evil” video game franchise.

Resident Evil 7

The snippets actually gave a glimpse of the puzzle mechanics of “Resident Evil 7” as the player sifts through the inventory containing strange objects including a straw doll, a circuit board, a switchblade, and yellow balloon, which seems to be the odd object among them all. But knowing Capcom, some gamers know that it has a purpose in the game eventually.

The sound effects on the video teasers suggested that a player may have to shake things loose from the containers, though.
