‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Rumored to Come Out in October This Year; Rockstar Games to Halt Updates on ‘GTA 5 Online’ Once New Game Comes Out!

Rockstar Games has yet to confirm the exact release date for its open world Western action-adventure video game “Red Dead Redemption 2” but there are two sets of rumors both pointing to an October release date.

It has been reported last year that “Red Dead Redemption 2” would come out in the fall of this year so an October release date is consistent with previous reports.

The two rumors about the release date of “Red Dead Redemption 2” indicate that the game could either come out on October 2 or around the last week of October, reports the Express of UK.

An October release date is usually the norm for permanent video game franchises of Rockstar Games since the game development company would like to capitalize on the increased spending with the onset of the Thanksgiving and the holiday season.

Ushering the end of updates for ‘GTA 5 Online?’

In addition to the October release date rumors for “Red Dead Redemption 2,” there are also speculations claiming that the ushering of Rockstar’s new game shall also mark the end of updates for the prolific “GTA 5 Online.”

Accordingly, the focus of Rockstar shall be diverted to updates on “Red Dead Redemption 2” when it comes out on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC in October this year.

Reports have it that there will be a slowdown in the production of “GTA 5 Online” updates as Rockstar Games possibly focuses on creating DLCs for “Red Dead Redemption 2.”

There is also a report from an insider that it appears that the Import/Export DLC released late last year for “GTA 5 Online” was supposed to be the last big hurrah for the game but plans have since changed due to the popularity of “GTA 5 Online.”

However, until the report or rumor is confirmed by Rockstar Games, everything about “GTA 5 Online” should be taken with a fine grain of salt and gamers should not be alarmed at all.

A visually-stunning open world game ever

Based on the latest trailer of “Red Dead Redemption 2,” the game is set to become Rockstar Games’ most visually-stunning open world video game ever.

Rockstar has turned a lonely Wild West spectacle into an almost real-life scene. Even the golden prairies look real. There are also cavernous valleys where eagles dominate the skies as well as the simmering deserts, notes Games Radar.

It is really quite a visual feast alright and Rockstar deserves the credit for turning the game into such. It has even outdone itself with the graphics and visuals it has done in the past “GTA” video games.

In addition to the great spectacle that it will be offering, reports also have it that players would have more fun with “Red Dead Redemption 2” compared to its predecessor game as it shall reportedly feature an online mode with three playable characters.

The three playable characters of “Red Dead Redemption 2” were patterned after the very successful open world action-adventure video game “Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5” featuring Trevor, Michael, and Franklin.

Critics are saying that the plan could be a potential marketing strategy for “Red Dead Redemption 2,” which Rockstar Games officials have been saying months ago as part of a permanent franchise just like “GTA.”

In addition to the three playable characters, “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall also have an online mode which is going to be similar to “GTA 5” too, which could be the reason why Rockstar Games would slow down on the development of updates to “GTA 5 Online.”

However, reports are also saying that the single player online mode for the game shall be released one year after the offline mode comes out on the gaming consoles.

There are also reports saying that “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall have an altered player mode where gamers can switch playable characters similar to “GTA 5” again.
