The open world Western action-adventure video game “Red Dead Redemption 2” was widely speculated to be launched this year at a major gaming event. But that did not happen thus far. With barely two months to go before the calendar year is over, it seems likely that the game would not be unveiled in 2016 anymore.
However, a trailer of “Red Dead Redemption 2” has recently been released by game developer Rockstar Games and it gives the players and critics a glimpse of the world that awaits them.
The trailer for “Red Dead Redemption 2” was a gorgeous showcase of the open world that failed to provide gamers with a decent idea on how the game will be played.

Developer Rockstar Games is probably just teasing the players, with plenty more of the western adventure to be shown over the coming 12 months. Judging by the trailer, the acts of horse-riding, bandit shooting and desert exploring in the game are back and better than ever.
After years of rumors and speculation, “Red Dead Redemption 2” is confirmed though it won’t be making its way to shelves this holiday season. Fans of the series will have to wait awhile before the “Red Dead Redemption 2” release date arrives.
Just like its predecessor video game, “Red Dead Redemption 2” takes place in the Old West, which brims with cowboys, cattle, and shanty towns filled with chaotic bars and bustling general stores, details Trusted Reviews.
Based on the game’s description, “Red Dead Redemption 2” is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland, which would set the foundation for a brand new gaming experience.
It has also been said that the game will be rolling out to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One in the fall of 2017. Rockstar has yet to confirm whether the game will come out on the PC or not or if it does, when is its possible release date.
Seven playable characters
Reports also have it that “Red Dead Redemption 2” may offer up to a total of seven playable characters and John Marston, the protagonist in “Red Dead Redemption” could be one of them.
The artwork and debut trailer show seven men, who are clearly involved with the core narrative or online components.
Either way, it would be fantastic to have so many playable characters with their own unique traits and skills at the gamers’ disposal.
Incidentally, a recent leak seemed to provide the map for the forthcoming “Red Dead Redemption 2.” The image was posted to NeoGAF before being taken down quickly, but not before being screengrabbed and shared all over social media.
A closer look at the map reveals Great Plains and multiple Caravan camps as potential locations that players would be visiting, details Gotta Be Mobile.
Pushing back the release date of the game?
Late last month, there were rumors saying that “Red Dead Redemption 2” would no longer come out this year or next year but most likely in 2018.
According to the speculations, game developer Rockstar Games has decided to push back the release of “Red Dead Redemption 2” to 2018 because it apparently wanted to make sure that the game is capable of supporting virtual reality (VR) technology by then.
However, some critics argued that it would be foolish for Rockstar to release two franchise games in the same year considering that the sixth installment of its highly-anticipated and very popular “GTA” franchise shall be coming out in 2018 as well.
But it seems that things have once again turned around in the rumor mills and the speculations are now pointing to the possibility of “Red Dead Redemption 2” coming out next year.
The notion was further bolstered on October 12 when Rockstar Games re-released the “Red Dead Revolver” on the PlayStation 4, and is now available for download via the PlayStation Store at a price of $14.99.
