We got one or two surprises in the twenty-fourth episode of “Pretty Little Liars” in its current season 5, and it seems like the season finale is going to bring big things to the table. Fans are excited and everyone is eagerly waiting for the next episode to roll around, and those who love to discuss the show got plenty of material to talk about from the last episode.
One of the things that will be revealed in next week’s episode is the identity of A, something which has the attention of many fans recently. There are various theories and speculations about A, but nobody knows for sure, even though we’ve gotten plenty of hints so far. In the new episode, we got to see the prosecution group getting a tighter case against Ali, while the Liars are trying to find a way to prove their innocence.
At the same time, Mike came back, with a strong determination to tell the truth and help clear things up once and for all. We also have Caleb and Tony staying strong in their own relationships, while Andrew has been seeing some character development of his own, although not an entirely positive one.
And, as a fun little inside joke, this week’s episode also had special cameo appearance by none other than Sara Shepard, author of the original books that served as the main inspiration for the show. In the episode, she plays the role of a reporter who has been following Ali’s case with deep interest for a long time, and she’s the expert that’s been summoned for a TV interview related to Ali’s trial.
While we don’t know whether or not Ali will be going down, there have been strong indications in that direction, such as the unexpected testimony given by Leslie Stone, the friend of Mona who surprisingly showed up in Rosewood to spend some time together with Mona’s mom while grieving for her loss. She has been putting quite the spike through the wheels of the defense, which can have interesting implications for the way the case will proceed, and fans have been discussing how her character could possibly interfere with the story down the line.
She has been acting quite nastily towards many characters so far too, as she’s always eager to blame those around her and lets them deal with their problems on their own. Hanna has been getting pretty suspicious of her and has been stalking her closely, but this is completely understandable given the way Leslie just appeared out of thin air and started messing up the situation for everyone around her with little next to no effort.
