Filming of the fifth movie of the successful “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise has hit another major snag recently, that had shooting in Australia grinding to a screeching halt.
Reports have it that Johnny Depp has been the main reason why shooting for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” was disrupted anew as the actor has not been showing up in the set as of late. He also often comes to the set either drunk or not in the mood at all to shoot.
According to rumors, Johnny is having problems with his newly-wedded wife Amber Heard and it has been affecting the 52-year-old actor big time.
Often, the actor simply does not want to be in the shooting and his mood has not been doing much either for the movie. The production team has reportedly blamed Depp and his 29-year-old wife Amber Heard for creating drama on the set in April that had postponed the film release to July 17, 2017.
Lost the enthusiasm
According to insiders, Johnny has already checked out. He comes to the set momentarily, deliver his lines, and then leave. Some of his fans are saying that Johnny is barely phoning it in, noted Celeb Dirty Laundry.
Johnny has been reportedly boozing and fighting with his wife Amber and the two personal issues are what’s really killing the “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”
The outlet said that Johnny Depp has been in Australia for what seems like forever filming the fifth installment of the franchise, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”
There was also his mysterious hand injury sometime late in March after a night of boozing. Then there was the issue when Amber Heard brought into Australia herself and their two dogs that caught the ire of an Australian senator.
The massive delays in the filming of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” has already caused producers more than $70 million and that is a lot of money wasted in any language. It is already behind filming schedule even though it is due to be released to worldwide theaters on July 17, 2017.
The cause of the delay
It is obvious that the cause of the delay is lead star Johnny Depp, who plays Captain Jack Sparrow in the fifth installment of the very successful pirate movie franchise.
Early in March, Johnny Depp had to left filming in Australia and go back to Los Angeles after he accidentally injured his hand. The injury had nothing to do with the filming of the movie but as a result of the actor’s drinking and partying spree while in Australia.
He came back to Australia in the third week of April bringing along his wife Amber Heard and their two Yorkshire pooches that got entangled in a controversy with the Ministry of Agriculture for slipping into the country without proper documentation.
If indeed the report is true that Disney Pictures is now seriously looking at a possible replacement for Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, the film company would just court the ire of its fans.
While it would be absurd of Disney to make that tough decision of replacing Johnny Depp, the truth is the film company would be left with no choice if the actor will continue to be besieged by his personal problems.
Latest reports came out that if and when Johnny Depp also agrees to leave the series as Captain Jack Sparrow, the most likely replacement is actor Jim Carrey, the man with the thousand of faces and voices.
However, according to sources, the offer to Jim Carrey was actually made last year when Johnny Depp has yet to confirm his commitment and presence for “Pirates of the Caribbean 5.”
There are also rumors that “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” could feature a female lead in Zoe Saldana. Zoe is highly recommended to the video game because of her superb performance in “Columbiana” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
I hope that Johnny Depp cleans up his personal problems. I am a huge fan of him and the Pirates of the Caribbean series. I think Jim Carrey could play a role in POTC series, but lets face it no one can replace Captain Jack Sparrow. So if Johnny Depp is looking at this comment right now… just please return back to your old self I miss that Johnny and if you weren’t in the Pirates of the Caribbean series things wouldn’t be the same.
