Outlander Season 2: Sam Heughan Wants to Focus on Something Else for a While, Future Episodes Won’t Follow Books Exactly!

It’s noticeable that they are keeping an eye on online discussions about the production though, as there have been some minor details throughout season one that seemed inspired from some fan discussions, and this has given fans some hope that they are going to see season 2 produced in a similarly sensible way, following the desires of the majority of fans.

It’s also interesting to note that some fans of the show seem to not only agree with the idea of deviating from the original storyline somewhat, but they even have their own ideas for how that could play out with the best possible results.

And then there are those fans who aren’t even familiar with the book in the first place, who probably won’t even care too much about the kinds of changes that will be introduced that will be a deviation from the original plot.

For them, this is just an exciting show with some interesting twists and turns in its plot that make it a very good way to pass the time. It has a huge potential to evolve even further into a TV classic, and hopefully its producers are going to reap that potential and push the show as far as it can possibly go.

  1. I just hope we don’t have to see too many flashbacks of Black Jack. I think that Ron Moore just went too far.

I want to see more romance.

  2. Neither Black Jack or Frank are the male leads in Outlander, but that was the goal for season one. Less screen time for the real hero…….Jamie, seems to have been Ron’s goal.
It has been reported that Tobias would not accept the roles, if they were as little as in the book. So Ron certainly fixed that. We had more Tobias than Sam, who played the real hero of the story.

  3. Really? Listening to fans ideas about plots never goes well. It needs to go where it needs to go and characters must stay on point.
One thing I do hope stays the same is the telling of an historical romantic adventure from the point of view of a woman. It’s rare and a real delight to get captured by!

  4. Not at all interested in more Frank. Jamie is the hero of the story, he is as popular as Claire, it is Jamie’s & Claire’s life story. Frank is but a blip in their history. No one is mobbing Frank(Tobias Mendes) at fan events, it is all Jamie and Claire, get a clue producers and STARZ.
