As per Gospel Herald, “Orange is the New Black” just finished filming Season 4 and the show is now headed for post-production. Despite this, the release date for the Season 4 premiere remains unknown.
However, if producers will follow the history of the past seasons’ release dates, then the show could air sometime in June or July next year.
The latest season will pick up after the events of Season 3 after the inmates enjoyed their temporary escape bathing in a nearby lake while busloads of new arrivals enter Litchfield prison.
Next season will see the tension between the old hands and the new inmates as prison facilities become congested. TV Guide reports that the next season will see the continuing feud between Laverne Cox’s Sofia and Selenis Leyva’s Gloria. Cox believes that the characters’ feud is not coming to an end soon, while Leyva dishes that forgiveness between the two is not that impossible.
Season 4 also welcomes Jolene Purdy to be the new cast member. Her role hasn’t been announced yet, but speculations say she’s one of the new arrivals at Litchfield.
Jackie Cruz, who plays as Flaca and Lea DeLaria, who portrays Big Boo, have also been promoted to series regular status. Pop Sugar claims that viewers are likely to get flashback scenes to tell the story of the characters.
