It was showrunner Jenji Kohan who confirmed during the Television Critics Association winter press tour in January that Piper is on a journey of rediscovering herself during the latter part of Season 3 and also on the upcoming Season 4. She said that the character is going through the vicissitudes of likeability.
Kohan hinted that the heroine of the TV series will become someone who viewers will refuse to root for in Season 4, which could either mean that Piper will turn to her dark side, or she will just drop out of the radar.
In a recent interview, Yael Stone, who plays Lorna Morello in “Orange is the New Black” revealed that there are going to be some major changes for the inmates when the series returns in June this year.
She disclosed that there are some big beautiful storylines because Jenji Kohan is not afraid to write funny or write from the heart and she has certainly done that for Season 4 of “Orange is the New Black.”
What she knows is that the plot would be very powerful for people, which is more than enough to further heighten fan excitement and anticipation over the release of “Orange is the New Black” Season 4.
The upcoming season will also show the Litchfield Penitentiary pushing all of the different groups together and unexpected alliances which will come up between certain groups and characters.
