Blair Brown is one of the many new additions to the cast of the upcoming Season 4 of the American comedy-drama TV series “Orange is the New Black” on Netflix.
In a recent interview, the actress disclosed that she will be taking on the role of Judy King, a cooking show host who ended up as the newest convict in Litchfield Prison.
She said that her character will be like Martha Stewart but she insisted that it is not on purpose but merely a creation of the writers, notes The Bitbag.
Brown describes her character Judy King as slightly appalling and a very good and very cheerful and probably amoral person.
The best season so far
Actress Laura Prepon, who plays the role of Alex Vause in “Orange is the New Black” says that the upcoming fourth season is by far, one of the best, if not the best, for the hit TV series.
The biggest cliffhanger of the Season 3 finale had Alex Vause teetering on the brink of death, which critics describe as similar to the fate of Jon Snow in the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones.”
Prepon disclosed that the “Orange is the New Black” team struggled with the Jon Snow Alex’s situation especially when Kubra was shown about to put an end to her life.
The actress said that people have seen her on the set and most of them already have the conclusion that she is not dead. However, she said that everyone of them has to be tight-lipped about the plotlines of the series but her character being alive was kind of a give-away already.
So the only thing that viewers would be watching out with Alex Vause is how she escapes from Kubra. Another interesting thing is how her return will play out in the seeming nurturing relationship between Piper Chapman, played by Taylor Schilling, and Stella Carlin, played by Ruby Rose, notes Melty.
Air date is set
“Orange is the New Black” Season 4 already has an air date on Netflix and it will happen on June 17.
Meanwhile, Australian actress Ruby Rose, in a recent interview said that 2015 was the greatest year of her life so far because of the TV series, which has given her friends that she will have with her for the rest of her life.
She said that getting to work with the level of talent in all sectors for her biggest role ever in the US is nothing short of a blessing.
Rose admitted that despite being the bitchiest of bitches in front of the camera, the women are actually the best of buddies off screen. She said that the quintessential thing on the show is that all of the women support each other.
She thinks that it is the biggest difference between the show and some other shows that are out there. Rose believes that it is not a common thing for a show that has that many women.
Meanwhile, Piper Chapman is practically the main protagonist of the American comedy-drama TV series “Orange is the New Black” ever since the show started more than three years ago on Netflix.
After all, Schilling’s character in the TV series is based on the real-life prison experience of Piper Kerman, the author of “Orange is the New Black” book, which is the source material for the Netflix show.
However, for the upcoming fourth season of “Orange is the New Black,” it seems that Piper Chapman will take a backseat in terms of show focus is concerned because apparently the limelight will be shone on the backstories of the other characters in the TV series.
