While games are waiting for the release of “Halo 5: Guardians”, the game’s developers have decided to give them something to help pass the time, releasing a series specifically made for the game, titled “Hunt the Truth”, in which players are given a chance to figure out various details about the game’s plot, collaborating online and speculating about the various clues spread throughout the series.
The latest, ninth episode of the series gave an insight into the past of Master Chief, revealing a little more about the mysterious organization where he originally came from. The new episode of the audio log apparently depicts events that occurred right before the meeting of the Senate which presented a report about the abducted Spartan project.
There have been various hints that the Spartan program is immortal, provided through pieces of evidence brought forward by Anthony Petrosky who was previously with the ODST. According to his revelations, the project requires children to be separated from their families at a very young age in order to be trained as the ultimate warriors.
In addition, the children were being used to test the special performance enhancing drugs used by the super soldiers, but in many cases these experiments went wrong in some way, usually leaving the child with a permanent physical disability.
We also got an insight into the life of Mshak Moradi and the various dangers that surround his activities, as he’s apparently caught right in the middle of the argument that ensues after Giraud provides the Senate with leaked information. We have no idea of Moradi makes it out alive after that.
So far, we’ve been getting various glimpses into the “Halo” universe presented in a very interesting way, but the one thing we’re still not sure about is how all of this is going to actually tie into the main plot of the game once it’s been released. Fans, of course, have been speculating like crazy about the possible implications of “Hunt the Truth”, but we have no concrete idea as of now.
The most prominent theory at the moment is that Master Chief will be hunting after an ONI official and trying to make them pay for the Spartan project, and that would definitely make sense in the context of the revelations that have been made so far. Of course, we won’t know for sure until the studio has released some more information themselves, and 343 Industries have been somewhat quiet on the situation so far. We expect to see more direct revelations as the release date gets closer.
