Netflix Growing Faster Than HBO, Company Introduces Highly Requested Download Feature on Android

Netflix is one of those companies that nobody really expected to take off like it did, but today its success is an undeniable fact. Recent reports indicate that even giants like HBO have been struggling to keep up with the development pace of Netflix, and it looks like the company is on the fast track to becoming one of the biggest players in the tech industry as a whole.

Indeed, recent reports by various publications have been discussing the rapid growth of Netflix compared to HBO, and more people are starting to turn to the service for their on-demand viewing needs, as opposed to competing ones.

Amazon have been making progress in that market with their own product, but clearly Netflix is just on another level compared to most of its competitors right now. The company has been evolving in all kinds of directions, from producing new content to developing interesting new features for its platform, and customer satisfaction is at a very high level.

There is some skepticism towards the success of Netflix, meanwhile. Some are claiming that this is nothing more than a phase which will eventually pass, after which the company will be in trouble. However, it’s hard to see why someone would get that idea when looking at the growth trends for Netflix and everything around it.

It’s also interesting to point out that Netflix could have been just another product of Blockbuster today if things had gone differently in the past. Netflix originally tried to pitch their business to the video giant, but were turned down, only to become one of the biggest contributors to the downfall of Blockbuster eventually.

With that in mind, it’s clear that the company has a very serious vision about their future and they have a solid plan for their development, so we would be surprised to see their productivity going down anytime soon.

Recently, a new feature was added to the mobile app by Netflix, allowing users to download content for offline viewing after much anticipation from the community. This is one of the most highly requested features for Netflix, and there have been talks in the past about seeing it introduced, but now it’s actually real.

What’s more, the app even supports saving content to SD cards, which has prompted some publications to joke at Apple’s expense, as this is obviously not going to be available to their users. Still, Netflix are doing as much as they can given the limitations of the respective platforms, and they’ve actually been doing a great job with the development of their system, all things considered.

What’s next on their roadmap? It’s hard to tell, as there are many directions for the company to go in, and all of them can potentially lead to great things. The best theory among most viewers right now is that Netflix are going to focus more on becoming a production studio, bringing out even more of their own TV shows and possibly even more major projects in the long run.

Netflix

This has been one of the strongest components of the company’s business model, and even though some were a bit skeptical about the idea of seeing content produced by Netflix at first, things quickly changed once people saw the actual quality of the productions they brought forward. And now, many viewers are expecting even greater things in the future.
